A few years ago, there was a bit of a fuss made when product placement became possible on telly. I seem to recall that Coronation Street were going to do it first, and there was supposed to be a logo or symbol in the corner of the screen to tell viewers that product placement was being used in a telly programme.

What happened to it? Am I oblivious, or did it just never really go anywhere?

I still see the P in corners, on the X factor I saw it last I think, but I don’t actually see any products being pushed, not like on American TV where they have coke bottles on the desk

I didn't even remember that it was a 'P'. Maybe I'm just not paying attention.

If required the "P" symbol normally appears in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Blimey. So it does still happen, and I haven't noticed it.

That explains my apparently unprompted decison to buy some adult nappies the other day...

The X factor was terrible for it this year.

‘Please use this phone from EE to answer a call from your judge to tell you where you’re going’
I think the flights were product placed too.

I don't watch soaps, reality TV or any vote-shows, so I guess I'm not the target market.

Pathetic really. I spent about 6 months thinking it was the PayPal Logo and wondering WTF it was on the screen for.

We watched "Knowing Me, Knowing Yule" last night (first time for MrsVX!)

What kind of car goes "woof woof"?

This is something that will probably annoy me now I've been told about it!

I've never noticed a P ever - not that I watch soaps, but they are sometimes on when the Mrs or kids are watching them.
