Ok - might live to regret this...but I'll give it a shot.

Been in IT for 30 years - left school at 16 and started at Olivetti fixing peripherals and motherboards, from the days of msdos to networking, firewalls, ethical hacking, virtualisation and now cloud computing.

Have you ever had a broken computer brought to you that turned into a pig of a job to sort out?

What do you mean by Cloud Computing specifically (question from a network security engineer...)

Also, does cloud computing not bore the living st out of you?

How many times did you have to "fix" an Olivetti M24 because the reset button was just the right place to be hit by a slim book?

Do you remember what software Alt-9, x, return was the "quit" command for? smile

Why does every IT guy ever say turn it off and on again before you have finished describing the problem?
I am a sensible intelligent person, calling IT is my last resort after I have tried all the obvious stuff, I have already checked all the connections and turned it on and off a few times before I give up and ring you.

Because sometimes it's the quickest option and not everyone is sensible and intelligent.

"Switch it off and on" is the cheapest solution for the business a lot of the time if it's a one-time problem.
