Most over paid workers
Discussion
Whilst top footballers are massively overpaid, you do have to take in to account the fact that their entire life (pretty much) is governed by their club, in terms of where they can go on holiday, what foods they eat and when, when to exercise, when not to exercise, etc...
All of which doesn't fully justify some of their incomes, but is an oft-overlooked piece of the puzzle.
I nominate tube drivers... I mean, how hard can it be?!?

Footballers, walk and jog 7 mile average a game, moan they are tired if they play more than twice a week, get cramp if they have to mildly work longer than 90 minutes.....
End of thread I guess...
Shortest thread ever?
Apparently they might die if they don't have 2 days rest after a game.End of thread I guess...

Footballer wages are driven by supply and demand.End of thread I guess...

If you want to look at people being overpaid, try looking at roles where there is artificial limitation of supply!

So you comment on a job you know nothing about and basically claim it's a piece of piss?

This. Paid about the same as a budget airline pilot with about 5% of the skill. Also nominate printers - a family member printer (waste of space junkie, but I digress) told me that it's essentially payment for boredom time, computer-controlled machine does the job whilst Lance reads the Mirror.

Dont do it myself as i was always one of the last to be picked at football at school when you picked sides.
Then probs put in goal lol.
Some other good answers but footballers must be most over paid though.
Why? Just repeating something doesn't make it true. Then probs put in goal lol.

You're appear to be confusing well paid with overpaid.

If software can fly a plane, why can't it control tube trainsAlso nominate printers - a family member printer (waste of space junkie, but I digress) told me that it's essentially payment for boredom time, computer-controlled machine does the job whilst Lance reads the Mirror.

They go on the same track day after day, it never changes!

The span of their careers (as with a lot of sportspeople) is also incredibly short; the earning potential drops away sharply (they aren't going to be earning £100k a week when they're 55). Unless they can make it into TV or big enough to have advertising deals, etc., and that's only for a select few. Everyone else vanishes into obscurity. All of which doesn't fully justify some of their incomes, but is an oft-overlooked piece of the puzzle.
I can think of a lot of 'old boys' in the industry I work in who've accumulated decades of generous pay increases, additional annual leave, impressive pension pots, all for baby sitting test rigs that don't work half the time, which they aren't responsible for fixing. They also seem impossible to sack, too, no matter how much or little they do, or how they behave. One person I know has something like 50 days of paid leave a year. The odd occasion they are required to be at work they do very little, making tea and conversation, and pressing the reset button. Horribly tedious I would imagine. But ultimately adding so little value to anything (and yet, sadly, someone must do it). For that, I nominate them as being the most over paid workers, in terms of input : output (maybe I'm just jealous that by comparison I feel like I'm working myself into the ground for a fraction of the reward).
