Wheel couriers
Discussion
Evening all,
I've got some alloys on Ebay at the moment - black after market jobs I've just taken off my S2000 as I have sourced the correct ones.
Collection is much the preferred option for me, and I've put that in the ad, but a guy has messaged asking if I will courier them.
Anyone used Paisley Freight to do this? They are reasonable cost wise (£40 for 4 17 inch wheels without tyres) and I'm interested to hear how anyone who's used them got on.
Do they collect from anywhere?
If you've shipped wheels previously, how did you pack them? (Foolishly, I have recycled the boxes my new ones came in - idiot - but I had no intention of shipping the old ones at the time)
Thanks.

Patience is a virtue.I've got some alloys on Ebay at the moment - black after market jobs I've just taken off my S2000 as I have sourced the correct ones.

Tell them no.
Sell to someone who will collect. They'll be along soon enough.
I did it once, but I had access to a band wrapper, bubble wrap and lots of cardboard.
And the tyres were still on.

If going down the courier route tell them you will accept them making their own arrangements to have a courier collect.
That way if they go missing or get damaged then they can sort the mess and not you
Good plan. That way if they go missing or get damaged then they can sort the mess and not you
Thanks for the replies, good to hear Paisley couriers are decent. I'll get back to the guy...
But you still need to package them up. I've used Paisley freight a few times and no problems, but I would echo the above sentiment, that unless your in the arse end of no-where, I'd wait for a buyer who will collect. You will easily waste a day packing them up, then waiting around for a courier to collect.
And they do need to be packaged well. I ended up wrapping each wheel in a cheap blanket then loads of wrapping plastic. Probably cost me at least £15 in wrapping materials?!

k off. There are far too many w
kers on eBay these days.Pallet2Go, stick them on a pallet, cardboard in between them and buy shrink wrap from staples or Screwfix and wrap them together on the pallet.
That’s what I done when I sent 26” alloy wheels from Glasgow to London.
Tell them it’s collection only but you will package them up for a courier. Soon as they’re collected by the courier, eBay sees that as the buyer having them and their responsibility now. I double checked this when I sold mine due to the value.

You'd need a pallet for 26" alloys!
I've used Paisley regularly, and they've always got delivered very quickly.
I sent a set last week, collected Tuesday from Newcastle, delivered 10am next day to Basingstoke.
I also use Transglobal Express, usually choosing the UPS option for overseas deliveries.
Just make sure they are in cardboard boxes, well taped up.

t spoken on PH nowadays!Good timing to find this thread....
I’m interested in a set down in London and am selling my own on eBay atm and really need them shifted - they were the wrong size! Would be better if I could offer postage.
I have the special bags that Audi provide for storage - I presume they wouldn’t work for transporting?
How on earth do you get cardboard boxes for tyres?! And would they be over 30kg? Mine are pretty heavy.
Thanks
