You may have won the lottery/ earned it, or lost in a casino for example.

I'm sure there will be some interesting stories....

I lost just over 10k in the space of as many minutes playing Blackjack. I walked in to the casino, which was on an old steam paddle boat in the US, drunk, with 300 to waste. After about an hour i was up to 10-11K.

By this point I was even more drunk and thought I was James Bond, next hand 5k down, lost, then same again the following hand. It was fun though.

Most lost probably a couple of hundred quid in the casino/a bad run of football bets. I try not to gamble much these days and might be up or down c. £50 over a month which I can live with.

Most won would probably be about £1600 which I won on Weakest Link a decade or so ago. The pot was double that and I agreed with the other guy in the final that we'd split it 50/50 regardless of who won. Which was good because I lost on sudden death! hehe

Bought another for a pound, that turned out to cost me £6.6m in the credit crunch

Net Loss of £100k

would have been an AWFUL lot easier to gamble a 100k in the bookies..........

I won a whisky bottle full of change in a "guess how much is in the bottle" competition, turned out to be around £300. I think there was one free entry every time you went to that nightclub, but me and my mate went very often. Also not sure if anyone else entered, so maybe it was only a 50/50 chance of which of us won.

£400 on the 2012 William Hill English Derby greyhoud race. I backed the winner before it all began at 40/1 after watching Racing Post TV and the trainer being on there. The dog missed out they year before due to injury but all the talk was about how it would have won. I missed out on 80/1 by minutes. I got lucky as it didn't win all of its heats but made a good start in the final. Got bumped at the first corner and came out in the lead and held on, breaking away slightly in the home straight.

I think the most I have lost is around £200 on the dog's at Crayford track.

Won about £100 on the lottery with 4 numbers quite a while back. That’s about it.

I kept winning on Euro millions, quite a few wins of £2.80 - £3.20 ish. Stopped happening though. Oh, and £64 on Lotto.

At 11 y. o. I won an electric razor in the school raffle. Kept it until facial hair arrived.

Otherwise, if it rained soup I'd have a fork.

Ninetieth minute beating Mirage D'or in the Coral Cup in 2009 won me about £1500.

I had a good day at work once and cleared just over £1k pre-tax for the day. It was a good day, went home and my wife informed me that we were having a baby!

A friend at university bought 300 bit coin for less than 1 USD each. 3 years later he realised he'd lost the hard drive his "wallet" was stored on. The other month they were just shy of $20k each.

Some of the terminology may be wrong, I don't know much about it.

Won £760 on an accumulator last year at the Gold Cup. Won it on the Thursday as on the Friday I was going there for my stag do.

Placed a £1 E/W on 8 horses. None of them won, they all placed. I think if they had all won I'd have won £3,000,000 or something.

A week later, get a phone call from Santander (who I used to bank with, who I thought I closed an account with). I owed them £500 for overdraft charges etc.

Easy come, easy go.
