With the news that someones decided to jump under a train, im going to be sat at work for a couple of hours with little to do bar internet shopping, whilst the mess is sorted, and reading the haunted by a small boy thread i wondered, what folks supernatural/unexplainable experiences were, sightings of cryptids/aliens etc. all that bks welcome too.

me i seen a ghost i think on a tidal road on the river Avon in Devon (the Avon near Aveton Gifford) also seen big cat cubs in the Quantock hills specifically Smiths Coombe, within 2 meters of me, crossing the path in front of me from deep bracken to deep bracken.

Im c country boy so no the cubs of all british wildlife these were not fox or badger cubs. The Sheep were going batsh*t crazy further down the valley and it was not a fun walk back to East Quantoxhead with shoulder/waist high bracken on both sides of the path.

My old mans golfing chum has also seen what he called a panther in his back garden a few summers ago (back garden in the middle of knowhere near the essex marshes. Salt of the earth type no BS, went to let his dog out for its before bed p, wouldn't go through sliding patio doors. Usually shoots out. Proceeds to flick on the flood lights that illuminate his large garden/paddock and sees a 'panther' within 20 meters of the house stand up and slowly lope off. H rang his Gamekeeper friend to get round sharpish with something more than birdshot that he keeps for his shotgun. needless to say it was long gone by the time they went out with the lamps. Not sure what calibre they had but other than piss it off if they shot it not sure what they hoped to achieve as it would need to have been pretty large.

There was a sighting of a big cat in West Wales some years ago, dog killed by it. Armed police called out, helicopters the lot.

Samples were taken...

Fella said it happened right in front of him....

Results of the samples said it was probably Badger not Cat.

I was with a gf's family once after her nan died and we was in the gf's mothers house telling stories about the nan, people laughing and joking about memories as they do. During the middle of this the floor standing lamp switched itself on. It had a manual switch and you heard the switch go as it turned on.. No one was any where near it etc and it was in the middle of the day so there was no actual reason for it to turn on or for anyone to turn it on.

Things have been found to have moved, for example a small cardboard box was in the middle of the room on the floor, it had been left on a window sill, no window open, no pets, no other person in the house.

Or I am in the kitchen, I hear a sound of a plate that has moved, nothing else to be seen when I turn around.

A glass of wine fell to the ground over chirstmas, it had been on a mantlepiece, no one was near it, 2 people saw it fall.

No negative feelings in the house. I have an open mind about supernatural things but if this was something like that I know just who it would be, he was a nasty twonk in life so this would just be Part 2.

Mmm......I wonder why no one ever managed to collect James Randi's one million dollars for demonstrating any supernatural activity under scientifically controlled conditions?

lots of false sightings and over excitement, but Forest Commission have admitted they are present in the forest of Dean, Ray Mears has acknowledged there presence and off the record comments by those in charge of the Exmoor cat flap when the marines were called out to scope the moor, supposedly they saw the thing/s a few times in night vision

Can't say i've ever had a super natural experience, or anything that can't be explained with a bit of thought. However 1 experience was a bit odd and I struggle to explain how it happened.

About 5 years ago, walking my dog around the perimeter of a large field. There's only 1 exit to the field as it's fenced off and bordered by a stream and the M62 motorway. As i'm heading towards the exit, I see a woman with a large dog walking across the field. Our paths were going to meet so I decided to turn round and walk the opposite direction around the perimeter of the field (I didn't like the look of her large dog). A minute later I turn round and she's now walking back across the field, on a path that will once again intersect with mine. Pissed off I speed up a bit. Turn round 15 seconds later and she's gone.

Big empty field with nowhere to hide and she's vanished. I decide to walk across the field, to see where she went, but I don't see her again. I often wonder what happened to her. The field was too big for her to have run off in that short space of time, and there were no holes to hide in or trees to hide behind.

Good thread! When my parents moved us to a new house 25 years ago (nothing amazing an end of terrace in residential area) on the day we moved in both mine and my mum noticed that our watches went missing during the day. Recovered on the floor somewhere in the house after a brief search. Anyway for the next few weeks we had visitors and they proceeded to lose their watches during the visit, all around the house. Was really weird, I did see one go it literally just dropped off my mums best friends wrist and onto the floor as she sat chatting. When she picked it up the buckle was still in place and she couldnt slide it back on without undoing it. We didnt tell her of our experiences to date of watches being 'stolen' by something lol

The other one was a bit weird, my nan on my dads side picked me of all her many grandchildren as her favourite. When I was about 1 1/2 years old I had a toy she gave me which I played with all the time, you younger kids might not know it but its a wooden telephone on wheels that you can drag along and it rings as the wheels turn. Anyway, I was sat on the floor playing with it in front of my mum and dad and my aunt and I picked up the phone and said 'nana says bye bye' and repeated it a few times, it spooked them because I hadnt really used the phone part that way before. We got a phone call from the hospital (this was back in 1977 prior to mobiles!) about 30 mins later saying my nan had been rushed in and died on arrival.

this is the tenant for my 'ghost' sighting, we were within 100/200 yards so didn't see it close it just disappeared when it had no where to go hence our only assumption being ghost.

I've had a few fascinating experiences, but only one sighting, and that was of a silhouette of a woman near a fireplace early one morning at an old Hotel in Westbury in Wilts. I could see the outline of her long scraggly hair and long dress.

The reception area was deserted at the time, but lit (not a 24hr reception, had my own key).

The hotel staff were interested to hear what I'd seen later that day when they came on duty.

Apparently, staff and previous guests had had the same sighting, but the last one had been some time before.

About 15 years ago I was working at Jaguar's Browns Lane plant.

One of the staff toilets in one of the buildings was at the end of a long corridor that ran down the side of one of the offices. There were no doors off the sides of this corridor for a good 20 metres or so.

I went to this toilet one day and was aware of someone walking behind me. As I approached the door of the toilet, I saw in the reflection of the sign on the door that there was somebody just behind me wearing a shirt and tie. I opened the door and held it open for them behind me, but there was nobody there. They'd just vanished.

I've thought about it lots in the years since and it disturbs me that I've been unable to come up with a plausible explanation for it.

Woking, around 1993, me and my mate both teenagers, walking home one night about midnight (and sober, for a change). Crossing a bridge from the Basingstoke Canal to Goldsworth Park estate, and aware of an oval shape above us with lights around its edge. We ended up just sitting there for about an hour watching it.

No idea what it was... weather balloon? Visitors from space? Woke up the next morning and I hadn't been "probed" so if they were aliens, they were friendly ones...

It's something that I considered, but I definitely heard someone walking behind me, and I definitely saw a reflection of 2 people in the door sign. The position of the other person in the reflection matched up with the noise that i could hear. I was wearing workshop overalls at the time and the other person in the reflection had a shirt and tie.

It was the middle of the day, I was well rested and not under any particular stress, and I've never seen anything like it before or since, and I'm not someone who's prone to my imagination going wild.

I did subsequently hear of odd things happening elsewhere in the plant, but not in that particular area.

when I was a kid I was playing tennis on the lawn in the front garden about 100 feet from the house with my sister, I was facing the house and she was facing away. I remember looking up at the house and seeing a huge flash of electric/aqua blue light illuminate the house as if someone had switched on a huge flood light behind it. All the windows were also lit up as if the light was inside the house as well as behind it. I remember being pretty amazed by it and it stopped in my tracks.

Can't remember if my parents were in the house to ask about it and no else saw it to verify it. I can't even be sure it actually happened; it probably didn't but I remember it vividly to this day.

Mid 80's walking home from school, listing to heavy metal on my (cassette only - no radio) Sony Walkman, just approaching a metal bus shelter and the music crackled, and a voice with an American accent said "...NASA, Delta control..." another crackle and music resumed. Rewound tape - it was one of mine I knew well anyway - and there's nothing on it, so not totally sure what happened. Fluke coincidence of events, I guess.

I didnt see a big cat in Wales smile but apparently it passed about 10ft from me according to a friend . We were shooting on on a remote farm in Snowdonia national park and I spotted a dead sheep so went to check it out before telling the farmer , was very fresh with its throat ripped out so we suspect the cat saw us long before we got there and was hiding waiting for us to get out of the area , my mate was totally freaked out but there are many sightings in that area apparently

Apparently when I was 3 years old we went on a holiday to Ireland, and we were at the houe my mom grew up in which was still in the family. I was playing outside, and I came in and sat down to get a drink. There's a photo of my mom's dad who died 3 weeks before I was born, and I looked at it, pointed and said "That man said hello to me outside". My mom, dad, aunts were all there when I said it.
