Powerfully built director
Discussion
Wow this is the lowest of the low.
First off it's not a 'meme'.
It's a old saying from when a chap called 911Motorsport started a thread where he got into a bit of bother with a womans husband.
The thread stated that she started kissing him and stroking his muscles as he was 'powerfully built'.
Since then, it has been overused to f
k by morons to describe a situation where someone is 'hard' (not even related to thread).
He was also a company director.
Hence the term, 'powerfully built director'
Want to know about frozen sausages or a red bull can or jason plato?

red bull was boring, sausages equally so, and plato cringe inducing/embarrassing for all the arse licking. put plato off for life and made him regret posting.First off it's not a 'meme'.

There are a great many things for Mr Plato to regret, if posting on here is high on his list of things that he regrets then i think that that likely says more about him than this place. More amusing is that instead of his one off post, followed by a 'proof' post he carried on. There are at least three other drivers on here who might be considered 'higher up' the motorsport pecking ladder in terms of achievements and international notoriety (and that i know of) who most certainly do not reveal their identities. Let's be honest there are people on here who rub shoulders with F1 drivers and the like on a regular if not daily basis. Not to mention the massive number of people who 'are someone' in the mortorsport world. Very, very few of them are known, and that's what they like, they can blend in with the crowd. The last thing in the World that they do is go "Hello, I'm Eddie Irvine* and here's a tin of Birds to prove it."
- Name chosen as I very much doubt that he is on here ever.
I never knew the origin but I use it to basically take the piss out of PH, as increasingly there seems to be people that just like to lie about themselves.
Obviously everyone here isn't a directer of a business owning an aston and playing around with 911's, eating an expensive steak and mushroom risottos every weekday, cooking a roast on sundays using some £20,000 kitchen hob that they decided to buy whilst enjoying their frivilous £2000 robot purchase that doesn't do anything more then a £30 one from the market whilst wearing a £10,000 watch which they consider to be their 'daily beater'

Actually I think the director thing was seperate. Someone was trying to pull rank and mentioned that they held 'multiple directorships', which caused much mirth. I think the two got combined. First off it's not a 'meme'.

We used to have a very amusing 'Cringe Thread' for when people came out with this nonsense, but unfortunately someone got all offended after being picked up on cringeworthy stuff they'd written once too often and went running to the prefects who immediately banned it.
Now Pistonheads is a happy place.

In the meantime, have a look at the Legendary Threads section posted at the top of the Lounge, the origin of a few of the endlessly regurgitated phrases by those with no imagination can be found there.
Here you go, this is the 'Director' origin I think (from the Legendary Threads list)
