The latest one is "throwing shade"; throwing insults, or disrespecting (god I hate that word), someone.

I've not heard "very fun", but "so fun" drives me crazy. Not "so much fun", just "so fun".

It won't be used when describing this thread, that's for sure.

It's not as bad as 'funnest'
It seems to be okay nowadays to use words like this in children's books. It won't be long before it goes into the Oxford dictionary.

But that’s a genuine Americanism with proper roots (1960s) as to its establishment as a turn of phrase

Maybe that is true but it still does not make sense. In fact it means the opposite of what is intended.

"I could care less"
"But do you on this occasion?"

Must admit, this incorrect structuring of phrases containing the word "fun" does my napper in.

All part of the "Can I get.....?" generation, I suppose.

Anyone who starts or ends a sentence with 'not gonna lie' deserves to be put in a furnace and used as fuel.

It does- but describing a noun as being "very" anything is just plain dumb.

To be honest with you, if I'm honest I agree.
