Me and MRS400 always go out of a Saturday evening for a meal and a few drinks down the local.

We ve both got next week off and we ll be going to Shrovetide in Ashbourne as we live just outside (2 Miles away) and we ve got other stuff planned.

So "normally " we are walking down the local right now, instead she is making tea and im sat here wondering where the rope is.

st tele not really a lot film wise to watch.

Thank god this is nt going to be a regular thing.

Will you be having scones with cream and jam, plus some of those nice little sandwiches with the crusts cut off?

Guessing you don't have any kids, I'm 25 and gave up in all that going out bks years ago, whilst me and misus enjoy the odd night out for a meal, never go to the closest town drinking or any of that.

Waste of money, you find things to go when you 'have' to stay in,films, video games you always find something, in the end you end up with loads of time for your hobbies and find you have loads of money left over from your wages instead of wondering where it all went.

All personal opinion ofcourse! smile

My youngest is having a birthday sleepover this weekend. Six 11 year old girls, they are already arguing. It’s been too wet to take them to the park so it’s board games and teen movies all evening. Argh! Roll on tomorrow lol

It is the same pub, and the same people, but we like the food and its with in walking distance, so no driving.

Kids 2 grown up ones that have flown the nest, or thou the Step daughters been round today and we ve been in town for some lunch.

I guess its just routine to go out and even thou we ve got lots to do this week whilst we are off, im sat here thinking I might just nip for a quick one.

We only go out a few times a year now. Working Saturdays does not help so Friday night I need to be in bed for 11 ish as I am at work at 7.

We probably average a night out every 6 weeks I would say.

I actually prefer to cook now, maybe a decent BBQ in the summer with home made cocktails. In the winter pulled pork or a rib of beef and a few beers.

Nothing worse than weekend TV, which is partially why I don't really watch TV anymore - streaming FTW nowadays.

That said I'm in most weekends and out doing things during the week after work; I prefer to have proper full days off doing absolutely FA.

Thankfully neither, no murderers or really any drastic crime in my little village.

Take me outs on now.

Nothing wrong with staying in on a Saturday. Nothing wrong with going to the same pub every week. Just got to do what makes you happy, whilst compromising if your other half wants to do something different! Not sure why staying in on a Saturday should be viewed differently to staying in on any other day of the week.

When I was single I always found Saturday eve the worst evening of the week to be in on, maybe it's down to the TV which is terrible and family orientated, but also in my yoof Saturday was always The night to go out. I don't mind being in any other night, probably due to a day of work. We usually go out Saturday eve too, but not tonight as she's out with her girly mates watching a band or something.

Me and Mrs Eltax used to always go out of a Friday or Saturday. Then kids happened hehe

Now it’s get the two kids squared away ASAP and cuddle up on the sofa with a beer or a glass of wine. Don’t really bother with the TV, it’s on, but I’m on here or listening to a podcast. And I have to say I love it. I got tired of the constant Out till late drinking, waking up with a hangover, waiting for her to roll out of bed about 11 and then wasting the day doing nothing.

Now we are up early, always have something going on with the kids and get much more out of our spare time.

I prefer it this way for sure.
