I never knew Mr Blobby was popular enough to warrant having his own theme park. He was sh!t, even at the time!

If you're in Berlin, take a stroll past Spreepark:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spreepark
It featured in the film "Hanna".

I remember going to Camelot with the school, it wasn't great back then and that must have been 20+ years ago.

Heathen! I loved Mr Blobby

However, I think even when he was at the height of his popularity, at which time I was probably about 8, I think I realised his theme park would be crap, and my parents no doubt would agree that it is not the kind of place they would have taken us.

Didn't realise American Adventure had gone too. I guess being in close proximity to Alton Towers didn't help but I like that place as a kid.

Not an amusement park but a water park is my childhood memory thats been demolished.

Fantaseas which overlooked the Dartford tunnel was an amazing place as a kid.

Loved it to bits.

The Tropicana in Weston-Super-Mare has been essentially derelict for years, although I did enjoy the "Dismal Land" Banksy themed exhibition there a few years ago.

Another one (OK, a leisure centre rather than a park) that has slipped under the radar:

I used to like that one too - some of the rides have been dispersed to other parks. I remember the RAC Rally running a stage through there once!

I was sad when it closed too, full of nostalgia for it as it was closer than alton towers and often a lot less busy, although that goes to explain why it no longer is.

Well we went there once. I'm pretty sure it was a side attraction to Cricket St Thomas wildlife park, though, and not "the main event". I recall feeling particularly underwhelmed by it in the end. Back then it was no surprise that it would play host to Blobbyland if anywhere was going to, as it was owned (or at least I was led to believe so) by Noel Edmonds...

...but what remained of the derelict Crinkly Bottom attraction was demolished in 2014. The wildlife park had closed a few years earlier, and the site is now owned by Warner Leisure and run as a hotel resort. After seeing some of the reviews of the place, it might appear that things have not improved very much since the Crinkly Bottom days, and I read some of the reviews with a sneaking suspicion that Mr blobby himself might still be running the show. wink

["All Ghillied Up"]

[Pripyat, Ukraine]

[Lt. Price]

[22nd SAS Regiment]

Captain MacMillan is proning in the grass and "Leftenant" Price is crouching next to him. Both men are wearing ghillie suits. Price takes out his M21 Suppressed.

Cpt. MacMillan: Too much radiation. We'll have to go around.

MacMillan comes out of the grass.

Cpt. MacMillan: Follow me, and keep low. Careful...there's pockets of radiation all over this area. If you absorb too much, you're a dead man.

Cpt. MacMillan: Are you daft? Stay out of the radioactive areas.
