that always used to be in cornish gift shops when i were a kid in the 90's. they were a crystal ball (small thumbnail size id guess) with like a wizard or dragon with it a few inches high in metal of some sort. i always thought they were king arthur related but not sure. i was never allowed one as was told its overpriced tat.

they came in all sorts of different guises/scenes, but since visiting in recent years as a n adult ive not noticed them.

something reminded me of them just now (we were discussing then googling the film trog at work and somehting came up under image of an image... )and i wondered if anyone remembers or knew what they were called?!

the metal was similar but the ball was much smaller and not a ball! like a multi faced crystal. and the dragon was like protecting it sort of, or was part of the merlins staff or Arthur's sword.

i shall peruse that thread on the train shortly. i wonder if anyone discovered the danbury mint last of the summer wine collection.

The compo coffee table brought great mirth when we discovered it (that it was a thing) at work.

That really is scary. I can't believe it was so long ago.

As for the ops question surely you aren't looking to buy said that? Usually found adorning council houses with lazy bad back claiming benefit tennant's who like to wear black velvet and claim they are white witches?

Where is the original Vixpy thread that preceded the Wing'd Horse one?

I had two or three of these dragon/crystal things, when I was just turning teen-aged, probably 12-14 or so. Picked up in souvenir shops whilst on holiday. I thought they were the bees knees and the height of adult taste and sophistication laugh
