So, been away from the UK and doing a flying visit next week, i need to go from Watford to Bond Street for a meeting on Thursday morning, to be at Bond Street for about 11am.

I have a hire car and am not staying convenient to any train / tube station in Watford.

Recommendations for teh easiest way to get from a hotel on teh outskirts of Watford to Bond Street without taking out a mortgage for parking or an insurance claim for a missing hire car?

I am assuming some park and ride from one of the Zone 4 - 6 tube stations but which one?

Cheers folks!

Depending on where you're coming from, the traffic in the morning needs to be considered on St Albans Road and Clarendon Road/Ring road. You can park at Watford Junction station for circa £7-8 for the day IIRC. Catch the fast train to Euston which takes about 20 minutes. You can jump on the underground from there.

It will always be get to Watford Junction via hire car or taxi and fast train to Euston before tube to Bond St.

Driving in will still be painful, whatever time of day.

Are you in the Hilton on A41 by any chance? In which case Stanmore would be an idea, jubilee straight to Bond St. Simple but slow.

Cheers folks, so Watford junction mainline is the way to go! Also surprisingly cheap parking too!

Many thanks folks!

After 09:30 is still offpeak?

Trains arriving in London before 0959 (and departing Euston between 1649 and 1901) are peak, but I don’t think the price difference is that much as you’ll be travelling on Oyster/contactless

Have a plan B in case the station car park is full, it’s Easter week so it should be quieter.

Where exactly are you staying in Watford ? - much easier to advise if known.
Bond St is tube so Met or Jubilee line makes sense.

Drive to Rickmansworth Station and get either tube of Chiltern train in, train is 23mins to Marylebone, Rickmansworth is zone 7 so will cost you about £11 return.

-drive from Watford to Eastcote (about 9 miles/20mins from Watford)
-park on the car park behind the station (about 3.xx for the day I think)
-Metropolitain line to Finchley rd/change to Jubilee line to Bond st. (half an hr journey in total)

Eastcote car park is 50 or so spaces so nearby Rayners Lane would be a plan B. I don't use Eastcote regularly but I've never found it especially full.

I'm sure there are more obvious options but I frequent this part of London often as my in-laws are in South Ruislip and the drive from Watford through the Northwood Hills area to Eastcote is always pretty pleasant and straightforward.
