What the hell is wrong today? A lot of people, me included, seem to be sending intimate messages, or even blurting it out on the phone, meant for other halves to the wrong people. First thing this morning, sitting in the lounge at the airport at 5 am sending a message to my wife starting "hi darling..." and slightly saucily as it's her birthday. Suddenly realised I'd sent it to my best mate instead. boxedin bks!

About an hour ago, said best mate's wife sent me a message about how her gynaecology appointment went. I don't think she meant to send it to me...

And just got a message from my wife saying that she was talking to a young (22 to) male patient on the phone and he signed off with a chirpy "love you!" at the end of the conversation. To his 49 year old GP. I think he wins the embarrassment contest for today.

Is anyone else getting or sending erroneous messages like this or is it just me?

WhatsApp now has a feature to help with that!

Aslong as it’s not been read by the recipient you can delete it. No one is the wiser, assuming you spot the mistake : )

I once sent a rather witty ditty to my girlfriend..

Sometimes I think you're sexy
Sometimes I think you're ace
But all I want to do right now is
come right in your face.

My mother's reply was a tad overboard I felt.

I was sitting on the train on the way into work a little while back, when I received a message from the plumber, who had been installing a new bathroom, telling me how gorgeous I was and how that morning's session had been 'fabulous'. Which was nice.
A sheepish apology arrived several hours later.
The potential for wind up replies was not lost on me but I decided to avoid the temptation in case something horrible back fired on me.

This isn't a new thing from "today" at all.

When mobiles become super popular back when I was 15/16 nearly everyone I knew had a Nokia 3210 or 3310. But a few mates thought they were being wise and not becoming sheeple with an Ericsson, or an Alcatel, or some other long-forgotten brand. Anyway, one of the features on the Alcatel (i think) that my mate had was that when you started a text, it automatically put the phone number of the top person in your phone book as the default, unless you selected someone else. My name being Alex, I was often the recipient of texts destined for my mate's then girlfriend as he was clearly in too much of a text-sex-wk frenzy to bother selecting "Rachel" from the list before firing it off/hitting send.

At the last company I worked for, there was one director who sent and received the mostly horrifically detailed emails to his partner. Every single time they'd get caught by the abuse filter and forward to me for approval. Horrendous stuff. I could never look him in the eye.

hehe

This happened today....I mistakenly sent Mrs Adenauer and lovely morning message. (Both our missuses share the same first name)

Fortunately I was very sweet with my morning message....It could've very easily been a whole lot different...Enough to make our visit in Aug very awkward rofl

Aged somewhere around 8 or 9, I once called one of my teachers 'mum' by accident.

I still remember the shame and piss-taking!!

Many years ago I got an email from a moron in another department asking for something, he copied in several people presumably in an attempt to make me look bad. I sent the reply to my boss setting in detail why this moron was a moron, wished he was bright enough to undertake his own fecking job and why couldn't we get rid of him. Well, I thought I sent it to my boss.... Reply all instead of forward (yes, who is the moron now). This resulted in my being called into his manager's office, who advised me that whilst I was correct and he was not only a moron but asking me to do his job, in future could I not tell everyone this..........

Sending a message to the OH that you'll be 'hitting the strip club laters' - was meant to be for a mate. Funnily enough she didn't mind - obviously I followed up with 'not my choice, the sales guys wanted to .. " - all this time I thought it was a no-no!

Out in the sun for too long over the Bank Holiday weekend; now back at work, worn out, dehydrated and Mr (or Mrs) Brain decided to take an extra day's leave, so not really with it.

No matter what the email or text nothing beats the shame of that one. It’s always far worse when you’re a kid.

I see both your incidents and raise you being in the 7th signal regiment standing in the corridor waiting to see the CO with my mate and a particularly attractive female Lieutenant came walking towards us and said hello boys to which I replied hello Mum.

I did exactly this yesterday, but the person still sees that you've deleted stuff.
