I just had to pop to Tesco as my fridge was empty.

Only on the way back out i noticed two police officers next to my van peering through the passenger window.

Having asked what the problem was, they were demanding all my details etc, then asked me to explain what this item on my passenger seat was...

There was a pile of paperwork on my passenger seat relating to a project I'm working on, on top was a basic diagram of a few contactors etc.

I was asked to explain exactly what is was, of which my explanation seemed to completely confuse them hehe

I was told not to leave such things on display, as it could look like the workings of a bomb!!! And was let on my way.

Now surely, anyone with the slightest brain cell can tell, its just a badly drawn diagram of a few contractors and motor overloads??

I have been stopped by the police several times, however this was by far the strangest.......

Those police need retraining. Everyone knows that bombs are round and black with a fuse sticking out the top. Bomb is normally written in a prominent position inside a spiky edged surround. Check out numerous cartoons and Pink Panther movies for clarity.
What is the world coming too?

You’re way out of dates. Bombs these days have a large red digital display counting down, and a button nearby to stop it at 007...

So what are you suggesting? That because bombs don't necessarily look like bombs anything that doesn't look like a bomb must be treated as a bomb?

Well, you're still around to tell the tale so I'm guessing that you didn't jump the automatic ticket barrier?

Perhaps. But years ago I was stopped too. Coz I'm white and clean shaven?

But their doggy got all excited and was keen on my bag..... Now, when the armed police are a little "stand off-ish" due to their dog going mental at your bag you know about it. So I opened the bag nice and slowly and showed them the tuna sarnie that had got their highly trained sniffer dog all in a tiz...... the look on the copper's face was a real picture......

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would see that as some kind of electrical diagram (I'm thinking electrical as its colour coded).

However common sense is not that common. Sadly the Rozzers have to deal with a lot of people who lack brains.

We're they checking every car for diagrams of bombs in the making. I think I would have inquired as to why they were peering in the vehicle in the first place.

Also they were clearly jumped up feckless idiots (a must if you wish to be a PCSO) probably bored and trying to scare someone as that is quite clearly not a bomb. Cretins.

To be fair to the cops, I wouldn’t know WTF it was a diagram of either. The general public (i.e. not electricians/engineers) really aren’t going to understand what it is...

In which case the only logical option is to assume it is a bomb and interrogate the owner. wink
