As an opposite to the other thread. I’m thinking of things that have cached on despite lots of initial negativity.

E.g. Satellite TV. Once derided as low rent council province TV but very much mainstream now.

SUVs. A decade or so ago they were widely regarded as evil beyond compeer. One Lib Dem MP wanted them priced off the road. Now almost everyone except PH diehards is driving one or want one.

Any more?

I was surprised to recently discover that in certain industries Fax machines are still very much used on a daily basis. Not emulators, proper big boxes with phones attached.

The Apprentice (UK version)

Was good for 3-4 seasons whilst things were still varied. Now just a competition to find the biggest dheads.

The Simpsons.

My favourite TV show really. But should have been concluded about 12 years ago when they finally ran out of good ideas.
