I normally wear Barker shoes, but in this heat and on the underground, sealed leather isn't ideal.

Do any of the shoe brands do a summer version? With little ventilation holes or something.

No need to make it a gender thread.

Can you only go out when Barker stays in?

You know what I mean hehe

As do the rest of you!

So thats a no then, leaving shoes at office isn't an option as won't have my own desk there as such. Never mind.

Getting serious here but it's about your socks more so than the shoes. Make sure they are thin cotton.

that's just because many people wear them to/from work but change into their work shoes at the office.

i'm in on this thread too. I wear chelsea boots.they're waaay too warm. having said that I am wearing sports socks so probably need to wear something thinner.

Dune used to do some finely perforated loafers, but the quality wouldn't be anything to write home about.

At the other end of the spectrum, J Fitzpatrick have some braided leather loafers which, while not really ventilated, would be a lot better than sealed.

I've been pondering this but don't know what I would get? my office does smart casual. it's only really management that choose to stick to smart shirt and tie. there are plenty of people that will wear just a tshirt, but i dont wana go that casual.

Wool blend is a better suggestion, albeit more expensive.

Barker do a ‘g’ wide fit which others don’t do. Loake no-where near as comfy for me.

To the OP - a good idea is to have two pairs. Shoes need time to air and dry and overnight isn’t enough esp in hot weather with shoes worn 5 days a week. I have two identical pairs and cycle them.

I ended up buying a pair of cotton socks from primark. £2 for a pack of 5. Noticed a big difference, feet were loads cooler and no sweat at the end of the day when it came to take off my shoes.
