Im sure we all have them but this friend or should I say ex friend now talks utter tripe. We will call him "Tim" for this story.

It goes back to around 1999 when I first met him, we were just finishing 6th form and I had saved up for a knackered old Polo. His nan had a few quid and bought him a brand new Golf GTI. Apart from it wasnt a GTI it was a 1.4CL but prior to showing us the car he had had the full works done on it, body kit etc, it looked just like a GTI to the untrained eye. He took me for a blast but we got overtaken by a Mondeo. I said why isnt it very quick? He said oh ive had to have it detuned for insurance reasons. And it had standard seats in it as they weighed less than the heavy ones normally found on the GTI.

Few years past and he told us he was getting a job in the Navy Seals. I said isnt that USA? He got confused. He ended up joining the UK police, did a few years on the beat. Would come out on a weekend to the pub with us and tell girls he was carrying a gun! Random constant stories about putting deposits down on Ferrari's, Lambos etc but they never materialised. The Golf 1.4 GTI got smashed up when he lost it on a wet road so he phoned the police and reported it stolen, even though he was in the police himself at the time!

Couple years pass and he then went in to firearms, used to tell us he was doing "vip" work. Then he randomly left said he got bored of the job which was strange. Coincidentally my other friend was also in the force, called me up one day and said have you heard about Tim. I said no, go on..
While on duty he had got chatting to a girl in the street after been called to an incident. The talk had got sexual and he had pulled out his phone and showed her a video of himself having a tommy tank. She then went and told another office what she saw and he was immediately investigated, his home searched and other videos found on his laptop of him doing various odd things. He resigned from the job.
While he was out of work he was telling us that he was still in the police doing VIP work and they allowed him to choose whatever car he wanted, came to the pub and said he had a Skoda, cant think which one, the big one, said he had "dropped" a lambo engine in it!

Next venture was selling office furniture but everything he did, whether it be the website or talking to him, he would constantly drop in to the convo that he was ex police firearms!

Even after it all came out and we all knew he had been sacked from the police he would still come to the pub and say "lads i might have to shoot off in a minute as they have called me back to work on firearms as they only want the best"

Last time I saw him was couple years ago in the pub. He told me he supplying printers and toners and was earning £22k a week. I burst out laughing and said 'no you're not dont talk such bks'. He got in a rage and told me he would never speak to me again!

There are countless other stories but i sometimes have a nose on social media and its mainly full of trying to look rich. He was an avid poster on here for quite a while.

Yes in short. Brags about everything but he has nothing to show for it. He is a ex friend.

Sometimes our paths cross and he brings up money within 5 minutes. I generally ignore him and make a excuse to get away from him asap.

I knew a lad who's nickname was Master B. Anything you said he had done years ago and he'd been world champion at it.

He once claimed to have fought with Bruce Lee....Master B was born in the early 80s.

I remember a kid from school who claimed his dad owned an underground golf course.

He was then known as Bulllst Brown.

Not so much a friend but someone who I have known in the past.

An example.

He was drinking in a pub up the Caledonian road and two blokes started a row. One of them "pulls out a magnum 45 and starts shooting rounds off into the ceiling".

What happened next we asked?

Coppers turned up, told him not to be so fking stupid..... then they left

Work with a lad and hes constantly bulling. He shows you photos of a wingsuit jump and holidays hes been all of which you can find within the first few images in google. His life back in poland is quite colourful to. Told me he had 130 bitcoin when it was 15k a pop. When i stated it was worth 2m he knew he was rumbled but agrees he had that much.

Its a shame he does it hes quite a nice lad when hes not making up stories.

I did go to school with a guy whose dad was in the army.

He claimed his dad brought a tank home one day - parked it outside their house - and that his dad let him fire tank shells onto a piece of waste ground where we used to play opposite his house.

Hey PP thumbup

Lad at school kept it up for a year that his stepdad was Rene Arnoux, went well until a few lads turned up at his (false) address in one of the most expensive streets in Brum. He went on to become one of the record-breaking number of expulsions from a single form in my school’s history (4 out of 30) biggrin

My old mate Dan. Was full of st but always entertaining.

His best was claiming to have been awarded the Victoria Cross for some brave act in Bosnia.

Couldn't talk about it though as it was top secret.

When it was pointed out that he was 14 years old at the time he claimed that is why it was top secret.

I worked with a guy. Always the best at everything. Going to get his driving licence (hes 40), only needs 2 lessons to pass.

Ex England rower, ex semipro footballer, ex boxer could have turned pro but broke his hand punching a concrete wall. Very clever yet doing a manual job. Professional gambler yet always loosing and skint. Will put 100 quid bets at stupid times on football.

Always saying how hard he is and could take anyone on, always saying stuff, like 'that's my boxing training kicking in,' like a six sense. He's been inside as well a few times, for gbh, yet you can't work here with a criminal record.(its checked)

I love all this, i am constantly amazed at the lies people come out with, some of them are insane. Heres a few from a few different people which i can just remember off the top of my head.

Kids dad jumped off the top diving board at the local pool. Sadly his shorts snagged the ceiling and he was stuck there. He was there for 2 weeks and survived by drinking water through a thread of his shorts he lowered down to the water.

Mate was on a dive boat. unfortunately one of the other divers was attacked by a shark, they couldn't find his body but they just carried on with the rest of the dive anyway.

Same bloke as above dropped his dive mask in to the sea. Its ok though because he free dived 100ft of depth to retrieve it.

Another bloke blew someones house up.

So many more. Ill have to think about it hehe

Oh yes.

Let's call him "John" and he moved to the Somerset village where I lived when he was 18/19 I guess, same age as my brother and a couple of years younger than me.

Stories included how his cat had killed a badger and how he'd been "let go" by the Royal Marines for being "too hard". Around the same time Alas Smith and Jones was on TV, so he very quickly became known as "The Incredible Bullstting Man"

Basically anyone who knows someone who supports Spurs.

Some old claptrap year after year.."this is our season, we're gonna win the league, we're gonna win the cup". They never learn.

Such a person would not be a friend of mine. I only have time for those who under promise and over deliver.

We had Colonel Tim who used to come up with the most outrageous stories - pall bearer at the King of Togo's funeral doncha know, me and a mate had a running gag of trying to winkle something into the conversation that he would then craft a story around - last one was eels - 'oh yeah, eels, I was fishing in the channel with Mad Mike Hoare - long story - but anyway he snagged a conga, fking brutal, had to use Mikes cricket bat to stun the fecker' etc etc.

I once knew a bullstter that said he was going home on a night out at 1am as he had got off with every bird in the club. He also set up a business doing bespoke stationary and went to the trouble of producing fake invoices as Mercedes UK wanted him as their sole supplier.
