So, in a fridge set to 4 degrees and surrounded by unfrozen water/various juices, two J2O bottles froze into mush and exploded, even the water dispenser was fine.

Baffled as to why? J2O freezes before anything else? Glass bottles make a difference? We've been storing them in the fridge for years without issues.

Sounds like something you'd want to speak to Britvic about. I've never had anything like this with J2O and I've had various flavours in the fridge over a number of years. Which one exploded? Maybe I need to drink my apple and raspberry ones tonight - actually, yes, I definitely need to add a pinch of Gordons and get through them. Thanks OP.

On a related note, I had some Carlsbergs in the fridge a few months back that were overly fizzy. As soon as I opened them, even if they'd been stood upright for a few days and I opened the cap in the fridge, they'd fizz over and spill everywhere.

Luckily my sister works in a lab for food analysis for one of the big supermarkets, where I'd bought the beer from, and she got in touch with Carlsberg on my behalf, presumably having done some interesting lab testing on the beer (I'd have just drunk them). Carlsberg sent me a crate to replace the 4-pack I'd bought. Not bad going.

Orange and Passion fruit in a four pack bought as part of a multipack from Costco - not the first from the pack in the fridge, but both remaining bottles did the same thing.

The fridge got a good clean out anyway!
