Never come across this saying (a bloody good one too, if rather cutting) and wondered what (if any) similar sayings there are for other regions around the country?

How do you know if someone is from Bolton?

Oh, they’ll tell you.

Tha can allus tell a Yorkshireman, but tha can't tell him much.

Oddly enough I was in the Tan Hill last night and it's on the wall in there along with some others. It is quite accurate for some of us, but i'm not sure how many proper original and undiluted there are left. Hale & Pace were always good at picking up Yorkshire nuances, look up their 'Yorkshire Airlines' on Youtube as it's quite accurate of the old school.

Credited to several sources but my favourite is...

Never ask a man if he's from Yorkshire. If he is, he'll tell you, and if he's not, why embarrass him?

I'm currently gazing towards Ilkley moor. bah 'tat. Where the ducks fly backwards.

It's truly God's country.

funnily enough whilst in the South last week on my holidays- my children were having a few hours at a pleasure beach thing/rides.

As I was putting them onto some ride, the attendant said "are you too scared to go on with them" (in a nice way)

I said, no, I'm from Yorkshire and I'm too tight to pay to go on all this junk.

Which is partially right, but also I detest " rides". I have no desire to feel sick at all.

"Vetnery" - exactly how farmers would address my dad. rofl
Often followed by torrents of abuse if he'd had the temerity to get a new car.

Yorkshire people are often proud of being from Yorkshire, you don’t really ever see this from other counties. Is it something that gets drummed into you at a young age.

I mean Yorkshire is nice an’ all but it’s not really much different or any better than most other UK counties?

Perhaps I’m wrong and it’s awesome. hehe

I'm from London, and having lived in Yorkshire for almost ten years I can confirm it's both a strange and wonderful place laugh

It's an inferiority complex that Yorkshire people have.

If you are superior, you know you are superior and you don't need to point this out to people.
