Good value fitted polo or casual shirts
Discussion
I know there have been threads on this in the past but things may have changed.
I don't buy 'nice' clothes that often as I am not really image conscious and don't go to nice places!
Shape wise I used to be a slim fit but i now have a bit of a belly going on (I am working on that) So I am not sure if slim or custom fit would be right for me.
So what i am looking for is Polo shirts or something that wont break the bank or make me look like i am trying to be too fashionable at 50..
The shape they need to cover is:
32" waist - 38" belly - 44/45" chest. (I am 6ft)
Just go buy some Ralph Lauren normal fit?

Crew Clothing worth a look? (£20-25 in TK Maxx)
If you can get to their Gunwarf Quays outlook they often have them a lot cheaper. I really like their stuff. Fits me well and I'm an odd shape.I don't know if American Eagle still have an online presence, think they closed their UK shops, but I'm wearing one of their polos right now, its very comfortable and they do a few different fits
Another vote for RL here. I have tried a few Hugo Boss ones on and always feel that their fabric is very thin and feels 'cheap'. That could purely be a subjective view though.
I have heard good things about Uni Qlo, but every time I'm in London I never seem to have time to get there. Gap also seem good, but again, never owned one.

Thanks for all the advice so far.
Do RL polo's last well after a few washes, I have heard conflicting opinions.
I've found RL ones to be very good at wearing well after washes. Sunspel ones start out looking and feeling better, but do not last well at all in comparison.Do RL polo's last well after a few washes, I have heard conflicting opinions.
I go for a mixture of the two these days, the RL ones getting the most use to keep the Sunspel ones lasting longer.

Another RL vote, slim or custom fit. Get a couple of different sizes from John Lewis and return the one that doesn't work.
Sunspel are good too, but not as hard wearing.
Having both Sunspel and RL slim fit, the RL polo shirts are much better made. Sunspel are good too, but not as hard wearing.
For some reason Sunspel polos aren't the same quality as the t-shirts and boxers.

I Agree. I think it is down to the way that Sunspel polos (Riviera, at least) are made on lace looms rather the the much tighter knit of RL polo cotton. For some reason Sunspel polos aren't the same quality as the t-shirts and boxers.
I still prefer Sunspel polos when new, but they certainly don't last as well when compared to RL ones.

Crew polos are very square, no shape. The RL slims are better. Bicester village do them from £25, which is about the same as crew on sale.
I have some other cheaper ones that don't cut the mustard and our retired to house duties!
When i looked at the crew ones, that was what i thought!I have some other cheaper ones that don't cut the mustard and our retired to house duties!
Just checked the Bicester village website and they don't mention RL but it's a 1000 mile round trip anyway and they dont sell online
