Just a bit of fun.

As per thread title.

Rules:-

You can wear anything you want.

You are allowed to stop for reasonable meal /drink breaks along the way.

Not a race, you can walk at your own pace.

Got to be completed in one go.

All day, I'd want to stop for sleeping at night. I'd rather do this in Norfolk than across the Brecon Beacons though.

I did 100km in 23 hours for charity a couple of years ago (Thames Path Challenge). Stopped for a maximum of 30 minutes as during training I realised that if I stopped, it's much harder to get going again.

I was broken at the finish line

Did 30 miles on Dartmoor in under 8 hours twice in a fortnight. Basic safety equipment/water/sa80 rifle/webbing with water/food stops every c.6 miles.

Sat down after each time and could hardly get up and walk to the bus. This was part of my Commando tests but failed the Tarzan assault course 3 times and had to do them all over again after a weeks rest.

11 years older and still think I could do it as a one off.

I reckon I could do 100 miles if the terrain was nice. Hiked 26 miles in the peaks which was pretty gruelling but if there were fewer hills and I were sufficiently motivated I reckon I could do a hundred before the need to sleep kicked in.

I wouldn't be very chatty though.

I'm assuming my Scottish ancestry would enable me to manage 500 miles. And then 500 more.

Depends on if walking to or from a pub.

Got a goodie coming up.

26 miles a day for 11 days doing shifts on a stretcher weighing 125kg between teams of four.

I expect to be fully fked by around day five, that's when the challenge will start.

That deserves more credit than it seems to be getting!

Pretty sure there have been cases of people walking 200 ish miles during the war in 4-5 days. Did one of the B2Z guys not walk a couple of hundred clicks?

70 miles. Took 19 hours which included a couple of stops of around an hour each.

I was dead on my feet at the end though.

I did Trailwalker a few years ago. That is 100km along the South Downs so it has 9000 feet of ascent and descent included as well. I was alternating painkillers from half way; paracetamol at one checkpoint and ibuprofen at the next then back to paracetamol. It took 26.5 hours and I was so dead at the end. I got massive blisters that required painkillers for another week and although I could probably have done more I was too tired even to celebrate when we finally crossed the finish line.

I managed 14 miles in leather soled shoes between 1am and 4am after an argument with my Wife which I foolishly decided to have with a flat mobile and no cash on me. My feet were bleeding when I got home but it didn’t bother me at the time.

I can cycle for 8 hours pretty much non-stop over rough ground at a push so I fancy my chances at a decent distance.

From dawn 'till dusk with a supply of snacks and hydration and the odd toilet break. Indefinitely with the same and sleep breaks thrown in. Always been like this. Parents frequently took me to the Yorkshire Dales when I was a kid and that's what started it all off.

There's something up with my biomechanics as if I walk for more than 15 miles or so my hips start to go and my feet eat themselves. I'd probably have to stop for good at the 20 mile mark after seizing up completely.

If it was on tarmac I doubt I'd last 5 miles.
