A post on another (the flemke F1) thread made me think about prizes I've won. I can recall only two...

A football in a primary school raffle, and an invitation to the launch of the 997.2 GT3 RS hosted by Chris Harris and Andreas Prueninger (I think that's how you spell it) ran by Evo magazine. The competition itself had a question that I've forgotten and was emailed out to magazine subscribers but I think you probably had to be a bit of a geek to get it (I'm talking about the GT3 RS launch not the football).

If you've ever been to the Porsche experience centre at Silverstone you'll know the drill, lovely food, fast cars and geekery.

We got to drive some (then new) Turbo S' and had a talk, presentation and got our mucky mits all over the RS. It was really quite good and I've still got the RS brochure that I got Andreas to sign.

I can't recall entering any other competitions to be honest so I may have quite a good hit rate,

A cuddly panda at a Pontins raffle in the '70s.

Probably £80 maximum on the Lottery in one go, plus lots of tenners and less here and there

About £150 maximum on Premium Bonds.

A bet on West Ham to beat Liverpool a couple of years back which got me enough for a nice bottle of Benriach.

That's about it. Pretty fking poor to be honest. frown

Oh yeah, tickets for Dick Whittington on Ice for a colouring in competition in a 1970s comic.

Day out at McLaren with Lewis Hamilton. Got driven by him in a Mec SLR around Goodwood, had a go in some Caterham's, did a skid pan course, then had a full McLaren factory tour. Whole day was bloody awesome, had lunch with Lewis and his Dad. Got a signed Sparco race suit and helmet as a keep sake.

I won £2033.00 on the Lottery about 15 years ago or so.

I remember going to their offices in Cockspur street to collect, not there anymore.

When I was 10 I* won a holiday to any of the Euro 96 countries with Sainsburys. So we had a week in Portugal. We only entered as I wanted a free t-shirt.

  • my mum did as I was underage, but I answered the question.

Been to the races live about 3 times.

Never lost money. Never made much, but never lost any either (always has one big/lucky win in a seas of durge)

Not much else I don't think.

I bought some B&H in Dubai airport and they were running a competition, I couldn’t be bothered filling out the form but my Mum convinced me to enter. I got a phone call a couple of months later saying that I’d won, assuming it was a pen or similar I palmed them off for ~5 months, getting a phone call every week or so. Eventually I spoke to them and collected the 1st prize, a 100g gold bar

A Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 courtesy of the Daily Express ... not a bad return for sticking my name on the back of an envelope.

I have won various things, I won a book token in a school photography competition when I was 12, I won the use of a brand new ford orion for the weekend (1.8lx no less) and a portable tv. I also won free tickets to a british drift championship round in a facebook competition.

My "best" win was I got an ipod shuffle out of one of those seaside crane machines!

I forgot a couple of things, I won return tickets for a cross channel ferry by being fast at scalextrix as goodwood fos and a group of us won a pair of entry tickets to LeMans on the ferry, which was bloody handy as we were 2 tickets short and were planning on buying a pair from the gate
