Getting a chair from Italy to Ireland!
Discussion
If only you'd asked a few weeks ago, my mate Frankie, the Pope bloke was doing exactly the same trip.
Used Shiply for a sideboard from Spain, which had sentimental value, back to Ireland. Apparently we paid nearly as much for the one sideboard to come back as the houses original contents cost to go out there. Was about £280 (I suspect 1970s £280 is worth a lot more than modern £280 ha-ha), 8 ft sideboard, all packaging etc supplied by courier. Was fine on arrival and bloke helped unpack and move into new house. And gave us a crate of Valencia oranges as well!

Bear in mind that if the box is 1.1m square, then it will overhang a pallet
Not only will this mean you pay for 2 pallet spaces, it also means that it's at risk of damage through a pallet courier.
If the chair is valuable then you need a proper furniture shipper, such as those I have suggested.
