I'm not talking of super powers, but every day things that some people just 'get'.

For me its mechanics. I see people posting threads on here with photos of something broken...I just don't get it. I've tried looking at guides, YouTube etc but decided its not for me. My brain just doesn't get it. It's the same with DIY. I'm useless!

Playing an instrument would be nice. Always thought the harmonica would be good as its easy to carry with you. Bought one but that's about as far has I have got.

Welding. I’m always impressed when I see people on here repairing things, making brackets up etc. I’d also like to be able to make & repair stringed insttruments, so luthiery.

I'd be pretty happy with this. Mega piano skills, maybe focused on boogie woogie so I could show off at parties and at random public pianos.

Luckily I'm really brilliant at all other skills already.

Me too
I'm not a complete imbecile when spannering, I will have a go at some things, eg I have changed a headgasket on a pinto, others, especially brakes and suspension things scare the crap out of me, I literally daren`t do any work on them.

That's probably mine too.

A good few years ago I went to a meeting at the Hilton in Cardiff with a load of colleagues I'd worked with for some time. After dinner and a quite a few drinks, one of the guys sat next to a grand piano and belted out about 10 minutes of Beethovens Moonlight Sonata. We then learned that had come from a family of musicians and had been playing since before he could read or write.

It got the attention of everyone in the hotel, not just the ladies!

To be multi lingual.

I was on a job in Holland years ago, there was us, a UK company, a Spanish crew and an Italian crew, the Dutch project manager would head up meetings just talking to all of us and translating for us with ease.

I’m still in awe at that.

I'd like to be able to sing, it's about the only thing I'm not already brilliant at.

I'd also like to be more modest smile

I like to be able to play the electric guitar. I bought one a couple of years back, a Fender Strat - but haven't had the time to dedicate any serious practice to it yet.

Fluent Spanish.

That is currently the only thing stopping me from a major end game to my life.

Taking classes in the UK apparently will enable me to converse with Brits who have done the same course. I need business fluency which I can only get through experience.

Anyway, for the moment, the phrase that has saved me a lot of money over many years. "Dos cervezas por favor y él está pagando".

Ability to speak multiple languages would be mine; whilst at Uni I worked with a girl originally from Tanzania but was schooled all over the world - she spoke something like 9 different languages and several dialects. I think it was her ability to change seamlessly from one to another to another to another without even thinking about it.

My little cousin has just passed her Scottish Highers and got As in French, German and Spanish and is also learning Italian and Russian. She wants to go into psychology however last time we saw her, we were telling her about interrupter roles; corporations, NGOs and GOs will pay big bucks for someone who can speak multiple languages.

Sadly having an aptitude for fabrication/diy /mechanics etc, can't really be learnt it's an inherited skill. Being handy can save an absolute fortune, paying people to do stuff costs £££££.
