Ticketmaster doing my head in
Discussion
Couldn't decide where to put this as it's a comedy gig I'm trying to book, so didn't sit in music.
Anyway, currently trying to buy two tickets to see Tommy Tiernan at West Hall, Cambridge. I've found a seating plan and want seats in the middle of the stalls. When I click through from Tommy Tiernan's website or go direct to Ticketmaster the only rows that come up are K and L. So far so good.
But whether I click "lowest price" or "best seats" the seats selected are 1,2 or 5,6 which are both way off to one side. If I say I want multiple tickets then I see that the seats I want (anywhere between 9 and 14) are available, but can never get those tickets.
I've tried having a session (multiple sessions) open to try and hold tickets and then opening another window or using my phone but still get the same tickets. I've had 4 windows open each offering me seats K5 and K6!
It's a joke. Of course Ticketmaster help is FAQ based or if you fill in the form you need a booking ref. which I don't have.
Not sure anyone can help, but just needed to rant at someone and I can't rant at my wife as the tickets will be her birthday present.

usual way to beat Ticketmaster when they're doing this is to "almost buy" in multiple different browsers (and incognito browser mode etc) and that will often take off sale the side seats you don't want and then your real order will usually be a bit further along the row. Sometimes you have to go almost all the way to entering credit card details in the dummy order browsers to temporarily knock the seats you don't want off sale. If still not working then try making the dummy orders in different numbers of seats such as 4 or 3 seats, as that is usually enough to force the ticket selling site to treat them each as proper separate orders and move along the seat row a bit more.
This comes from years of buying London theatre tickets and being fussy about seat choice. Thankfully in that market more and more of the ticket selling outlets are offering exact seat selection from a map of coloured dots these days, especially the big theatre chains like Lloyd Webber/Ambassador/Delfont Mackintosh/Nederlander/Encore so no need to use these tactics any more with them, but I appreciate not all venues or ticket companies are yet so enlightened.
