What grips your st about being a 'responsible' adult?

What makes you think your experience is worth listening to?

Good question

Dunno - I've done ok, I suppose. Been through a fair bit - there's loads more with extensive experience, I'll listen to anyone and see if there's value to be had.

Being too old to be young but too young to be old.

Age = sickness & misery and death ultimately irrespective of wealth. So why grow up ? Order something quick with the sports exhaust and enjoy it now, life’s too short.

Not knowing WTF you young people are on about. (I think, as your answer seemed to be negative so that could mean it's a bad thing, the st gripping...)

As I say to my children and grandchildren when they mock me for being old "at least I have reached a good age and enjoyed the best years of motoring, oh and I get a good pension to boot" tongue out

The pop music today, it's all noise and you can't hear the words...

It used to be trees all around here.

Paying half my wages for a st house in a st area with st neighbours, the fact no fker talks to you, you cant just go up to someone and say be my friend.

Thinking you have a bit of spare cash then getting a bill for stuff that you didn't even use like tv channels or council community centers in a village 10 miles away (council tax)

Can I go back please? I fking hate being an adult.

I fking detested childhood. Adulthood is near infinite improvement. I dunno if that makes me a grownup though.

nothing at all bothers me....at 70 I still work because I love it, have seen the world, and have no need to lecture others about " the good old days". or even worse " in my day".

I enjoy life right now, drive the cars I like, do the work that challenges me, have the relationships that matter and have generally good health. Very aware that this stuff goes away and that's the way it is. Will have no regrets.

When I was a child always wanted to grow up and are my own decisions. Started to work at 11, never regretted leaving childhood.

Yeah, being an adult is so much better, but I'm not going to act like one just because I'm "meant" to.

One nice thing about being old is that you have grandchildren to play with.

Remember that growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.

Because we have to learn for ourselves.
When you tell a child 'don't touch the plate-its hot' and the first thing they do is touch it. They won't do it a second time. They don't learn as they get older, you may tell them but they still have to find out for themselves. Frustrating but it's in our nature.

I'm glad I'm older, yes you battle with health and fitness issues, but I really wouldn't want to be around to face the issues my grandchildren will. Environmental problems, food shortages, over population etc its going to be a tough century for mankind (humankind as it will be known)

This. I'm 33 with a mortgage and a partner and a child. I still don't feel grown up. I just have more money but less time.

to be honest the music that has come out this decade has been genuinely very bad. just grunting and sounding like a monkey. the problem is anyone can get big if they gain popularity, before it was a case of writing actual songs, using a producer etc.

Being grown up to me is dealing with those life and death situations of those near and dear .
Having to "step up " for people , deliver the bad news to husband , wife or siblings .
For me it was having to tell my dad that his wife of over 50 years had passed away , I felt for a long time that I was responsible for breaking his heart as this man that had guided, mentored and taught so many over the years just crumbled in front of me . Then I had to break my three sisters hearts with the same news .
Two years later I held my fathers hand as he passed away , being a grown up sucks but often it's a duty that shouldn't be dodged .
