Quick drive into town tonight for a haircut and a takeaway.

So far:

1. A lad on a bike with no lights on nearly hit me. He was bombing along the pavement as I was exiting my drive. Thanks chap. You are giving responsible people who ride bikes a bad name.

2. The trick or treaters are out in force. They are all stepping into the road when vehicles are passing, trying to run across the road and dragging their kids in front of vehicles, throwing sweet wrappers everywhere and trying their hardest to be run over.

3. I just passed a lad sat half on the kerb and half in the road. Wtf? Why would you sit with your feet in the road?

4. Passed no end of vehicles with no lights on. Sort it out FFS.

5. Just been passed by a Clio with the old sidelight and foglight combo going on. hehe

Be careful out there tonight folks. I'll be glad when I'm home. smile

It occurred to me that the youngest person - barring one baby - in my village is in their late thirties. Halloween is so peaceful.

Yep

I just went down to the local Tesco......and came across a woman in dark clothing with no high vis, reflectors or lights walking in the road on the inside of this sharp bend:

Do people have no sense of self preservation!

Sounds awfully boring and quite saddening for the child who (unless things change) won’t have any friends close by geographically

Back o/t ... mostly witches and mummies (bandages rather than milf variety) round here and thankfully no traffic to speak of so road walking is safe-ish

Oh well, I'll consider that societal ill, and the associated boredom while precisely no trick or treaters walk down my dead end lane. hehe

Saw a fair bit of this tonight, in really silly places.
On the way back home, I rounded a blind bend and saw a large woman stood in the road with a pushchair. rolleyes

Similar from people wandering around with their kids in tow in the roads where i live.

Just like last year, at one point you could hear audible shouting outside and, unsurprisingly, there were a group of parents with their kids shouting at a driver about how they could have been killed by his dangerous driving, etc, etc. As expected this could have been avoided if they hadn't been walking in the middle of the road and had used the pavement instead.

Amusingly, one of the vocal parents actually lives round the corner, and based on what i've seen of their driving skills (speeding in residential / blindly cutting the entrance of the road - on the wrong side of the road) if you'd expect anyone to knock over a child, it would be them.

Fortunately, my night shift commute takes me through the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Marvellous. Loads of young, nubile, university student flesh on show.

Hurrrrhurrrhurrrrr
