Meeting my wife at Hatfield Station, train arriving at 11.22 am. I set off from Henley sat nav said TOA 11.21am, lovely sunny day yesterday, little traffic arrived at Hatfield station dead on time what could possibly go wrong?

When I parked up and looked at my phone there were a series of messages from my beloved "It is saying train delayed" "Now saying train cancelled" "Now saying train broken down" "Now saying will not arrive at Hatfiield till 12.30"

I think that I had enough fuel to easily complete the rest of the two hour journey North with a third full tank but I thought I might just as well fill the car up at Asda while I waited.
Card only pumps, my pump accepted card and code and just had a message "processing" . This went on for some time tried card again eventually guy in front tells me they are always slow. By now there is a queue behind of people who think that I am an ignorant moron whose card has expired or has forgotten his pin
Eventually car in front moves on and I go to his pump and things begin to look better until.......

The was a loud horn blast from the queue from a woman with three blokes in the car trying to drive across queue and an angry looking bloke in a big black car was not going to let her in. Window wound down and a stream of obscene language "impatient effing bh" etc etc this was followed by three blokes exiting car and going up to Mr angry man who floored the throttle and screamed to a halt opposite me.
All this was very distracting as I now had the possibility of a fight breaking out right by me.

I had put the card in which had worked this time so quickly put the nozzle in the tank and filled it up only to realise at the end that horror of horrors due to the distraction I had just filled the petrol car with 50 litres of diesel (65 litre tank) Drove 50 yards and parked up telephone fuel fix company. On another note I always thought this was not possible due to different nozzle diameters.

Two hours later. unhappy wife with all her troubles beforehand plus taxi fare from station, I had £250 bill plus 50 litres of diesel and 15 litres of petrol lost plus another 65 litres of petrol, say 130 litres @ £1.30 / litre another £169 so maybe a total cost of nearly £450 with all the coffees and snacks to keep us going. This was followed by a bloody awful drive in the dark in heavier traffic, home at six which should have been nearer half one.

Thanks Mr and Mrs Angry people! (Oh and the bloody train service which started the whole thing.)

It is your fault for being distracted.

Never done this but have witnessed it...

Dads done it a few times, once in his 3 week old Seat Ibiza FR, Mechanic goes to pick him up and low load the car back to the garage, and manages to scrape the side of the car on the trailer!

Always remember that car as being a POS, ended up trading in at 6 months old, He phoned me and asked how quick we could repair the scrape/dent from the mentioned bump, it got traded in with sticky paint

Not long ago I had a long drive back from Manchester on a Monday morning, awful traffic throughout and my drive belt went about 3 miles from home (after a 200+ mile drive).

Slowly chugged into a car park and rang Green Flag. This was about 1pm. They arrived about 3pm. Needed to tow the car to my local garage. Tow truck arrived at 9pm, although the garage had stayed open for me until 6.30pm in the hope that they'd arrive in time. It was raining and dark. The guy winched my car towards the trailer and impaled the front of the car onto the ramp.

My 911.

We need to review our gun laws in this country.

Like a lot of things, I can also chuckle about it later!

I thought that I was like Marvin, the manically depressed robot on HHGTTG. "Here I am , brain the size of a small planet, and all you want me to do is fill the car up with the correct fuel"

I shall not be so judgemental now when I hear of similar cases, but in my defence, I was watching the events unfold quite intensely, and it could easily have escalated into things/ people being thrown around right by my car.
When the guy initially accelerated forwards he clipped one of the ones who were after him.

I nearly put diesel in my Morgan recently - in a twin hosed pump that only served diesel... one was green coloured, one black.

I mentioned to the girl at the till that I'd nearly done this as I assumed one was diesel and one unleaded "oh yeah, that happens all the time". Brilliant.

The problem here appears to be that you went to ASDA!!

I had to go to A&E a few years' back on Christmas Eve. There were two women being kept apart from each other by the police. IIRC, one had a broken nose and the other a torn ear, sustained when they'd got into a fight over the last bag of King Edwards in the local ASDA....

Feel your pain. Been there and worse.

But for perspective of the definition of not good days, take a wander over to Health Matters and have peruse of the many cancer threads and similar.

Not having a go by the way - but we do sometimes need reminding that there are bad days and bad days smile

To be fair to me, I did say "Not a good day" which is not as bad as saying I have just had a terrible day, or the worse day of my life.

I have just been watching the evil of the Japanese General Tojo in the last war to give a sense of proportion
