What are you getting your partner for Christmas?
Discussion
Nothing so far. However SWMBO's birthday is in December so for that I've got us tickets to see The Lion King (she's a BIG fan of West End shows), with a night in a hotel and train travel there and back sorted too (we're in Exmouth and I didn't fancy driving and trying to find somewhere to park). Couldn't make a full on weekend of it as both our jobs mean we're heavily restricted in taking time off during weekdays so it's only the one night away.
Her list is poor though: clothes (a near impossible task for men to buy women clothes), a table, a frying pan and perfume. FFS.

I'm utterly useless at gift-buying.
So far she has bought herself a book she was after, and a matching necklace and bracelet. I think she'll buy herself a few other bits and bobs for me to wrap up for her on Christmas Day, and then, on Christmas Eve, I'll panic and rush out to get her some perfume that I know she likes the whiff of.
We're neither of us into expensive gift-giving, especially to each other. I'm happy with a book and some new slippers really. Christmas really is more about spending time with family, going for a walk on Christmas Day, and having a big old lunch. We frequently don't even start opening presents from under the tree until the late afternoon, after we've washed up the lunch dishes...
...in fact, I think my wife would happily go without presents at all, so long as the kids get something, lunch is a success and we get in our Christmas walk. 'Stuff' comes and goes, and most of it will eventually end up in a skip somewhere. Experiences will stay with you forever, though, and next year's Reading lineup looks good (very much her thing), so I might get us a couple of tickets for that.

Another that has no idea buying pressies.
We normally buy our own presents, then say thanks to each other.
Was looking at

Then realised i,am looking at things i would like.
Not lady watches, Just watches.
Do you buy hoping they like the actual present, or hope they like you've made an effort to surprise them?
Its the thought that counts etc

How people can be bad at buying gifts is beyond me.
I've already bought her everything she wants and vice versa. We even bought a new Aston as a wedding present to each other (50/50). Much better to have some fun buying stuff on Christmas morning than opening yet anther shirt! ;0)Blakeatron said:
All year all she has said she wanted was the front door repainting for Christmas- i did it a few weeks ago.
Another one! Mine said that too but she wants it the same the bright blue as our car. However, that was a week ago; earlier today she said she'd like to have her ears pierced which is OK with me as that'll solve birthdays and Christmas for the foreseeable future - a women can never have too many pairs of earrings, can she....?Riley Blue said:

Probably one of these:

Got one of those a couple of years ago. SWMBO loves it and it has pride of place in the kitchen as a work top ornament...
We’ve got few extra things which bolt onto it since
Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
