Any recommendations of who to use please?

It is unlikely the mother will participate.

Needs to be postal.

Is this simply to ascertain paternity or is there a disagreement about funding child support and/or parental responsibility?
If it's the latter then a court can order the test to be carried out, but be aware that if the contesting father is found to be the parent he will have to bear the cost of the test (which I believe is set at around £400).

No courts.

Just between me and the child.

Cellmark are one of the larger firms and are used by local authorities etc too to determine paternity and subsequent childcare.
Pricey, mind. https://www.cellmark.co.uk/dna-testing/relationshi...

Thanks, but that's not postal. It involves a specific appointment with a doctor or their representative.

AlphaBioLabs do legal DNA testing accepted by the Courts but also do a 'Peace of Mind' home testing DNA kit.

https://www.alphabiolabs.co.uk/product/paternity-t...

No experience of using them but sounds like it is what you are looking for.

Yes, that's the sort I had in mind. I had found them via google.

I see Boots do one too, total £140. At least that's a known name.

If you can get past the chavtastic company name, I used these people, albeit 9 years ago.

Service was efficient, all by post and did what I needed it to do

https://www.whozthedaddy.com

Good luck.

How about one of those family tree sites? - google tells me https://www.familytreedna.com/ - that way if anyone starts asking you are just building a family tree!

Genetrack Biolabs are Canadian but send their kits out with “DNA testing” written on the packaging of privacy is important!

No help at all but,

Whilst we were in the waiting room to have the first ultrasound scan of our son, two track-suited chaps and a rather rough looking lady sat opposite.

The nurse called out the ladies name and the three of them stood up, then one of the chaps asked the nurse if the scan would confirm which of the two was the dad!

Have you asked your GP? No idea if they will do it but perhaps if you and "your" child go to the GP together they can arrange it?

I don't have a GP and the child lives 100 miles away.

GP would not get involved in paternity testing.
