is it some sort of culty pyramid scheme? am i going to go along and find myself in a cult somewhere in the forest or will i simply wake up in a hotel room with a sore backside and no memory of the preceding 3 days?

Sounds like generic sales type NLP to me. Not a bad thing but you need to understand and appreciate wider perspectives on the subject matter to inherently change and deliver on it personally. This sort of stuff is peddled by many people.

I did a lot of reading a couple of years back about it as part of some CPD and found one author (after reading probably 15 different SME/authorities) on the subject matter who really made sense to me when I combined it with my professional mentor and it’s made some big impacts in my levels of success and achievement (personal and professional)

He will give you a few interesting tips, then sell his course or training at you. It could be 1hr45 of amazing stuff and 15 minutes of sales or 5 minutes of mildly interesting stuff and 1hr55 of sales.

Having been to this sort of thing before it'll be this. With the added drawback that the 5mins of interesting stuff will be about an hour and a half into it.

These things are for one thing only- to sell you his paid course/books/video/seminar/whatever.
