Get rich fairly quick

Suppose I decided it's time I got rich. Not billionaire rich, not even rich by most PHers standards. Just rich enough for an Eagle E type and a Cirrus SR22 and to be able to use them freely. What's the best option to give me a sporting chance?

Starting a business would be worth a try if I could think of a business to start.

Some people in my current field (IT) do earn the kind of money I deserve aspire to but I don't, so presumably if I retrained as a lawyer I'd end up defending alleged yobs at magistrates courts rather than earning thousands a day.

Writing a book sounds the best option, highly unlikely to work but no real risk.

What have I missed?

I hear they're not bothering with shoplifters. There is also a minimum theft level (£50?) so there you go.

Otherwise, retrain for a high paid job is probably the best way forward. Maybe IT for a financial business, add PRINCE2, drink lots of strong coffee to keep you awake.

FX trading - could make you rich much more quickly than the rest but 99% chance of having you lose everything and not gaining anything at all.

Start your own business - depends on your motivation and if you can create/offer something that others want to buy.

This is what I'm already doing, theoretically high paid jobs don't seem to work for me.
