Now, mind out of the gutter people. This is a semi-serious and smut-free topic.

Right now the wife is away on a hen do. I'm at home with the dog, and when I've got the house to myself I'd like to open a bottle of wine and sit and listen to my vinyl records. And this alone makes me very happy. But if I suggested doing it with the wife, well there'd be a difference of opinion on the wine and the music I want to listen to. So the only times I can do this is when I'm on my own or it's my birthday.

So yeah, I was curious to know what other persuits other PH'ers get up to that they enjoy more on their own...

Breaking out the vinyl collection as you mentioned. My Mrs, lovely as she is, doesn't really appreciate my taste in music.

Messing about for hours with my motorbike.

Other than that, I do enjoy dragging the big bass amp out and having a proper loud practice on the ol' P-Bass.

My wife’s in Brighton for the weekend, all girl 60th birthday bash.
I’ve grilled Monk fish, which she doesn’t like, fried a slew of peppers and onions, skewered them into kebabs, had a couple of bottles of Nuits Saint Georges “Les Athées” on ice, and watched a PBS series, “The Wall”, about cities and countries that have been divided, Mexico-U.S.A., Belfast, Berlin, Famagusta and all Cyprus.
I love her to pieces, but it’s been good to kick back, and do what I want to do.

Breaking out the music, and chasing theme after theme via artist or album or genre down as the tracks inspire you...

Stop posting, and get to it.

Get in the garage. Tinker, clean, dismantle, rearrange stuff on shelves then get indoors and order strange tools from Ebay.

Just the silence of the house. I’ll happily sit just in silence, not meditating, just breathing for a couple of hours - bliss.

Tinker with the car, strip bits off clean and refit - drive it through summer.

After 5 years, setting up my mac to start music production again.

Watercolour painting and mac based arts (though is my day job so doesn’t count as such)

Having the entire bed to myself for the night. Bliss!

Can stretch out, no hogging duvets or errant limbs attacking you. Bonus points if I’m off the next day and take my time getting up.
