Discussion
My partner has 3 kids from prev marriage. The eldest is 14. She is a f

t. She told me to my face that I was going to take her on holiday.

My advice to you is that you do not allow her behaviour to get to you, dont respond, go to a different room or take a walk.

Sorry to sound harsh but kids’ behaviour reflects their upbringing.

hes", the friends of theirs that were, it was fairly obvious why. My colleague's fiancee has 4 kids, he has none and is never likely too now; 2 are in their 20's and the other 2 are 10 and 12; 3 different fathers.
The 12yo girl is a horror, however her father plays her off against the mum and he's not particularly reliable and in the past, the mum has let her get away with murder and pretty much waited on her and done her bidding as and when the daughter wants it so its no real surprise that she is hard work.
I admire my colleague for getting involved with some one with kids, particularly as being 44 he has no real experience with them, however I know he finds it bloody hard going; I couldn't do it, I just wouldn't want the stress and grief.

Kevin Patterson is also not far off as a depiction of teenage boys!
I'm being rather toungue in cheek before you take me too seriously, but I'm not far wide of the mark.

The other thing teenage girls do is practice flirting with their dads to be seen as perfect little angels whilst making mums life hell while dad is at work!!

You may have a point - my wife argues a lot more with my daughters than I do (although I’m not sure I’d class it as “flirting!!”Kevin Patterson is also not far off as a depiction of teenage boys!

And my son’s behaviour is EXACTLY like KP ....

h.It's hard being a parent and having to deal with all that, but that's the job and you're there to protect them and provide somewhere where they feel safe and secure and where they know what the boundaries are. And yes, sometimes they behave like idiots and act like selfish, self-centred brats, but how you deal with that shows them what being an adult is all about, so they'll learn from that.
To the poster who mentioned 'the close bond between a father and daughter', it must be a wonderful thing to have, but I don't think it's very common.

If she’s so materialistic you’ve got the perfect lever to get what you want.
If you get a clicker and stun belt you could try a Pavlovian experiment on her. Keep sweets for good and stun belt for bad, you will her trained in no time, might even fetch your paper.
What a great time to be alive.
