I have been on the Internet almost from day one, a very early Demon customer, long before Netscape 1.0 even (and a Bulletin Board member years before that). I've never been on social media however and have a pretty narrow band of stuff I do, PH being my main interest.
A while ago a gaming forum I use occasionally changed it's format, I didn't take much notice and made a post a couple of days ago. When I looked back at the thread earlier I had received 6 "likes". How odd.
27 years on the Internet and I've never had one before, I'm unsure what the point is. Is it to save all the trouble of actually saying "I agree" to somebody?
Does it lead to people posting purely to garner likes rather than saying what they really think?

Offtopic, but Vodafone is shutting down Demon Internet on 20/06/19.
End of an era (and a very good ISP).
Wow ... I assumed Demon disappeared a long time ago! End of an era (and a very good ISP).

in answer to your question OP, yes it does.
/who remembers Mintel, circa 1983/4?

I virtually lived on Usenet for about 10 years, Free Agent. I think Virgin still run some Usenet servers, or did until very recently, only a 30 day retention though. /who remembers Mintel, circa 1983/4?

Who remembers KAQ9 or whatever that early Demon front end was called? Would love to run that now just to see how impenetrable it all used to be.

Apologies for the (very) off-topic question b rd, but are you planning another European car 'n guitar escapade this year?
