After more than a quarter of a century (no point rushing) me & 'er indoors have moved in together. We've moved from 8 bedrooms across 2 houses to one 4 bedroom house. This has involved me chucking away 50+ years of accumulated rubbish..and I mean a lot of rubbish!

Anyhoo...on a visit to my parents my dad reunited me with 2 Morris Minor Traveller rear doors that I last saw in 1977. I've sneaked them into the house, although I've absolutely no use for them.

What nostalgia items do you have? Anything you'd never be parted from?

Nostalgia’s not what it used to be.

Hopefully no TVRs were lost in this move?

But nice one!

Hilts, you were robbed. My parents made me wait a while to buy mine, as, for some reason, the change from purchase tax to VAT dropped the price of my TE1, to just under the £8 mark at the time, from what I remember...

This was the proper wet burner one, which could result in the kitchen floor covered in burning meths when doing a hot re-fuel; none of those namby pamby solid fuel blocks then. Character building stuff!

I can't think of any possession that I've ever hung on to for sentimental reasons. They serve a purpose and then they're gone when the purpose goes. I don't need a physical manifestation of a time, place or person.

Everything I dispose of lightens my spirit to an extent. A pal of mine is fully fixated on the good old days. I don't get it. They're dead and gone. Concentrate on making some new ones.

Butterflies aren’t what they used to be.

I’m a nightmare for hoarding. I’ve got a garage full of ‘stuff’ that might come in handy. My wife says I’d be on one of those extreme hoarders programmes if I were single. She’s probably right hehe

They're great pieces of kit, mine's also a liquid meths burner. Late 70s maybe, xmas present from my loaded uncle.

12 house moves in ten years has a lot to do with me keeping very little. I do have some items for sentimental purposes, but I also have them out on display, or i use them as intended.

I have a pair of binoculars that belonged to my grandad on my living room window sill. They are in a lovely tan leather hard case. I wear his cufflinks quite often. Otherwise i use and dispose as required.

I am quite embarrassed that I still don't want to get rid of the last of my R/C collection even though I can't realistically see me using it again and it has been ten years since I have.

Some of it is neatly stashed away but my 'shelf queen' all alloy monster truck is still on display!

No wonder I am single..

I'm usually quiet good about getting rid of old and unwanted items but I have an escape from colditz board game. The box is broken and lots of bits are missing but I remember playing it with my dad and brother whom are no longer here, and I can't bring myself to throw it away.

After both my parents had died and their house was cleared I didn't want much from it. My sisters bickered over ornaments, pictures, jewellery and so on but I just wanted a few things to keep Mum's and Dad's memories alive: their WW2 service records, my Grandma's locket with a photo of Grandad in his WW1 uniform, the field dressing my Dad carried with him during WW2, his parent's biscuit barrel, his father's WW1 medals and his own from WW2 and the Korean War and - most bizarrely - the Jacobs Cream Cracker box that for decades my parents kept biscuits and cakes in. I still have it, we still use it.

We bought our house in '91, I put a box of my cassette tapes into a box stool on our landing,

I haven't looked at them since. They date back to my teens (I'm 61)

BASF Chromium Dioxide, TDK Metal (the later ones).

In 1986 I got my first car, a red X reg Fiesta. I put my own sunroof in it (I did a good job, but the notion horrifies me now! What if I'd cut it wrong!!?! yikes)

A couple of years ago the section of roof I cut out surfaced at my mum and dad's house. It now adorns my garage wall.

I am not a "nostalgic" person, if that is such a thing, but I do have hanging in my garage a lovely shiny wood rimmed steering wheel off a 1988 TVR S and an electric window winding mechanism from a 1990 Saab 900 16V Turbo.

Every so often I look at the steering wheel and think It would look nice on my SL but modern airbags and stuff rules that out.

I used to hoard car mags but all those got thrown away a few years ago along with a biggish Scalextric set that I bought in 1996. I probably should have kept that frown
