i left a load of money thread
Discussion
following on from the most cash handled thread.
I cannot get my head around people getting a bag of money out, going for a can of pop or something and leaving it in the bloody shop. I just find it so unfeasible yet at least 3 people have already made a comment to that extent.
whats the f
k ?

I know someone who won £2k on roulette at the bookies so went on a Leo Sayer. Twelve hours later he sat on a bench walking home and left his phone and wallet on the seat neither was there in the morning!
So the bench was walking home and the roulette winner sat on it?

ive watched someone withdrawal 300 quid from cash machine and not take it and walk off.
That might have been my brother. He has done it more than once. Sometimes he is lucky and it sits there long enough that it’s taken back in by the machine. Not always though. He is just spectacularly forgetful.

A friend of ours once had a load of cash to buy something; can't remember the amount but it was thousands, left it on the roof of their car and drove off, it was never found.

One day many years ago, I lent my girlfriend £100 to tide her over till her housing benefit came through. A week or so later she paid me back, and as we were on our way to the cinema, I just locked it in the glovebox and forgot about it.
Until about a fortnight later, when I realised that the day before, I'd got fed up with the amount of junk that was cluttering up the glovebox, and chucked it all into a litter bin in a supermarket car park. I shot back to that car park at a speed that wasn't seen again until Senna's first lap at Donington ... but I was too late. It had already been emptied.

Not me, but one of my Dads friends. He had a really busy takeaway, cash and cheques only before card payments were commonplace. He had about £1k in cheques and £8k in cash on a Saturday night which he always put into a small takeaway carrier and tied up the handles. In his haste to tidy up and get away he binned it. By Wednesday he couldn't find his money, looked on the CCTV and saw what he had done. Only problem was the Eurobin was emptied on Monday.
I managed to leave a custom made Martini Lancia livery on a train. It cost about £2500-3000 to create and was the sole reason for the journey.
Luckily the guard found it after they phoned him but I had to go from my stop in Brum to Edinburgh and back to retrieve it.
V strange as I never, ever misplace anything normally.
