‘To be honest’

If you need to tell me you’re being honest I’m going to assume you’re lying.

"Look". Used by politicians at the start of a sentence to highlight that what comes next is a lie.

"Fair play".
"So, for me...."
"I know you are not going to like this........."
"There is an important issue we need to have a quiet chat about, can we do so tomorrow afternoon when I can book a meeting room" to a subordinate in an open office in a loud voice.

Any business patter that includes
"Nurgatory"
"Add granularity to the situation" (I presume taking Imodium may help this)
"Win theme"
"Holistic all round life time benefits"
"Now, we have had a rough time of late, so in future we will lead with the best foot forwards"
"There is a wormhole for that black thought".

And from today's acostation of a colleague by a chugger............
"Can I just ask you a question?". "You already did. Now go away".
"Can I just briefly interrupt?". "Yes, that was a brief interruption, you have proved you can, please go away, I am busy talking to Stan".
"Sorry, I meant can i just interrupt to ask you a question?". "Stan, that imbecile that I have told to go away twice is still moving its mouth but I hear no words coming out, just the smell of Queff, do you think she is deaf?"

Probably the last three are from a script but do seem to be the chugger / doorstepper introduction statements at the moment.

Do you really work with people who talk like this? How do you dispose of the bodies?

Anyone starting a sentence with “so...”

“Look” a close second, seemed popular with Aussie cricketers for a while, just to wind me up even more

“To be totally honest...”

So everything you’ve said before that has been totally bks...why not just be totally honest to begin with so we can skip the dance and get straight to the point.
