What is with this?

See loads of sports people doing it now.

is it one of those weird things where someone like Red bull tells you you have to do it, or do they honestly think it looks good.

Because surely someone needs to tell them.

Caps look sh!t, whether ears are tucked inside, or not.

Actually I noticed this the other day with Antonio Ginovincci from Sauber doing it. I even commented to the wife, WTF is with his ears?

The wife, who is by measure of a decade much younger and "up to date" than I, simply thought he needed surgery but couldn't afford to get it done.

Strange old world.

The hilarious bit is that the ears look even more ridiculous if you are trying to hide them as they sort of fold under a tiny brim.

Agreed some caps look crap, but foir baldies like me in the summer, they are a necessary evil!

I can only imagine some marketing type has worked out that people spend longer looking at it in a WTF way and it therefore shifts more product.

Could it be something to do with covering up the tops of your ears in sunny climates like America and Australia? Stop them burning? I think I got sunburnt on the tops on my ears in the Canaries once as a kid.

This is literally the only thing I can come up with!

Its literally just because those people have smaller heads compared to the hats they're wearing laugh

The sponsors seem to insist on using those fitted flat peak caps and I guess the sportspeople just have to wear whatever size they are given. They'd look fine in a normal baseball cap.

It's good to cover your head from the sun. There are lots of nice light-weight hats available that look smart and dignified.

It's because those flat peak caps are pretty loose around the sides, and actually push your ears out if you leave them outside, leaving you looking even more ridiculous than tucking them in.

Google not working in your area? wink

Pick a Panama, Fedora, or whatever, to suit you. Any would look better on an adult than a "baseball" cap.

If I could be arsed, I'd Photoshop one of your "smart and dignified" hats onto the bloke above in the baseball cap... But I can't... hehe

It still wouldn't make the wearer smart and/or dignified. tongue out
