Interesting to see the order in which this happens for most. In my head it's always been house/engagement in quick succession either way around and then marriage and kids if it suits... Of course this isn't the right way, it's all circumstantial...

For me-

Rented together
Engaged
Married
Still renting together
Dog?
Retirement (baked beans)
Death

The last three are predictions, but can't see us buying anywhere anytime in the next 5-10 years, and we will probably run out of time biologically to have kids.

Death isn't a prediction.

So it's a certainty...not a prediction.

For pedantry's sake you could argue that it's a prediction since I put it after retirement timeline wise, for all I know it might happen next week or next year!!

Oh I see. You're saying the order of your final 3 in your list is a prediction?

I think it's a bit mental to spend thousands (or tens of thousands) on a wedding before you've bought a house (if you plan to buy a house).

Together at 24
Live together at 26, rented
Probably buy together at 28 or 29
Married? Who knows, think a ring is expected sometime soon, probably just after we buy
Kids, the tricky one, I suspect not until early to mid thirties
