I’ve just bought some $20 notes (here in Scotland) for my niece who’s going to Hawaii for the summer.
I was looking and noticed one was from 2013.
Now I know it’s unknowable, but it made me wonder, how many times will it have been around the globe, what will it have been up to on it’s travels etc...
What does PH think?

$1 ... how cheap are you and/or how awful are the strippers for such a terrible tip!

Want to swap it for a £7 note? I know it's a genuine £7 note because it's triangular yes

Try Scottish strip clubs - combination of rough strippers and tight customers! hehe

They always get a bit pissed when you ask them for change...

I’ve got a couple of these too, consecutive serial numbers too.

I checked recently and they’re worth $2 each

Fascinating, shame it isn't more popular. It is mad to think what coins/notes have been through and where they've been to end up in your hands. Then once you hand them over, where they will go to next?

I wonder how often people handle the same note twice in their lives. Giving a note to a shop and then X years later getting it back somehow without knowing. I imagine it's very, very slim.

Shame there isn't one for sterling notes, well, after a brief google, I can't find one.

I really don't understand how this works, please explain? Do you mean from a starting point of a person having a known quantity of banknotes with known serial numbers? How do you know where these are at any time once they've spent them, and then the next person gets that bill in change for something else?

I’d like to hear the logic about this too.

Must be something to it, given how in every hostage movie, the bad guys always want unmarked, non-sequential bills for the ransom money
