wish.com - Who uses it?
Discussion
Thinking of buying a few bits off here - is it a trusted website?
I know most of the things on it are Chinese tat but a few bits and bobs could be useful.
Wanting to order some nuts/bolts/washers, Car trim clips etc. and have no rush for postage.
Seems to good to be true - Is it?
Cheers

Driftland did a video series of stuff they've bought from there....
A wouldn't be buying anything safety critical, that's for sure.

its just another portal like aliexpress for cheap imported tat.
You know how the UK has the advertising standards agency to minimise a vendor selling one thing and sending you someting inferior? Wish.com is basically a marketplace with little to no standards - most stuff is photoshopped and exaggerated claims. Even just looking at it briefly I was presented with ads for diet tea and pills with hugely exaggerated before and after pics.
As mentioned above, fine for novelty value, but I wouldn't be putting buying anything of importance from there.

AliExpress (or DHGate) is FAR better to purchase said tat from. The main reason is that the shipping cost is displayed up-front, so it's easy to find the cheapest seller. The descriptions are usually better, you can sort by price and the number of sales, and then view reviews and photos from people who have bought the tat. Depending on what you are looking for, you can save an absolute fortune by buying from either of those, if you don't need it for a few weeks of course. You know how the UK has the advertising standards agency to minimise a vendor selling one thing and sending you someting inferior? Wish basically pretties it all up into a friendly app, and as you say, targets with some very questionable products.
Not used Wish but have used Ali Express lots of times and it's always been pretty good.
Advice is, just like eBay, buy the seller not the product.
If it doesn't turn up you get a refund, this can be a couple of months down the line so don't get anything from there if you need it urgently. Stuff usually turns up in less than 2 weeks for me.

Or a quick trip to Homebase
No high street shops sell them really - They're the Anodized cone load spreading washers that take a cap bolt. Quite hard to get!

I agree with what others have already said with regards to Alieexpress and another similar site fasttech if you want Chinese 'goods'. Most of the time you don't even pay for delivery, which I still don't understand!
Small businesses in China have subsidised global shipping, hence us being able to by things so cheaply shipped to our door from half way round the world.nitrodave said:

Yeah, i understand that it is subsidized on the china end, but our post office still has to sort it and deliver it and i assume they are not getting paid?Gassing Station | The Lounge | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
