The wife & I have a close friend (Russian but UK citizen) in a London hospital with terminal C.

No dependants other than her mother in Russia who does not speak English nor can travel due to her own poor health.

We would like to help with both health decisions & personal affairs while she is still compos mentis.

Will power of attorney give my wife this authority and do PoA's need to be registered?

In this situation is a legal Will required also to allow the bank to release her savings or and transfer these to her mother?

Also thinking money transfers could be problematic to a country like Russia so my wife would travel there.

Advice appreciated.

Lot’s of info here on the official government site PoA I’ve just done it for my mother using the forms, lot’s of signatures required but pretty straightforward.

Thank you for that.

I was scooting around lawyer sites for some direction.
