Just saw a meme posted on Facebook, saying "If I got rid of everything that didn't spark joy I'd be on the side of the road holding my dog and my coffee maker". So, the question to my fellow PHers is, if you got rid of everything that didn't spark joy, what would you be left with?

For me...
My cats, my music collection, my espresso machine, my synthesizers, my art materials and my car.

My wife; my daughter; my dog; in our house ... the house itself would be pretty much empty though

The house as we recently moved to our dream house, the cat and maybe the car (not the Alfa though). I wouldn't say the wife as she would kill me for describing her as a possession. hehe

Wifey.

After that I dunno, we've tons of st that bring joy in their own little ways, from the plasma telly on which we ritually watch rock concerts post Friday night beers and curry to the simple joy of using quality tools such as global knives and an induction hob and quality pans.

Of my "possessions"... I'd be left with nothing. Would rather not lose the cars, bikes, hifi, property I've put blood sweat and tears into as well as a few other bits and pieces, but they joy:cost ratio isn't what it was when I was younger.

The cat's dead, otherwise she would be on the list, no danger.

Beyond that I'll be left with family, memories and the future. That'll do.

You might as well, you're wife doesn't want it.

I'd take the wife, kids, magnetic chess set I bought for £1.25 44 years ago, turntable, amp, speakers and records, one of the cats (the other can fk off, the vicious little swine ), my internet radio and my pushbike.

Wife, children, dog. Everything else is transient - Ive made it once and, if I had to, I could make it all again

I’d be exactly as I am now, but this thread would not exist.

Same, plus 2 cats.

Am surprised by the number posters list items like consoles, cars, watches etc.. it's all just stuff very little of them bring actual joy, at best the pleasure from them is only momentary and will easily pass when something newer and shinier comes along.
