I need to get something off my chest.

Am I the only one that finds it degrading being called “boss”, when going to a hand car wash?

Wash the car yourself if you don’t like talking to Eastern European’s!

Flip it on its head.

Would you fancy spending 12 hours a day washing cars and calling people "boss" to make a living?

Being called "boss" whilst someone washes your car for you is a bit of a first world problem.

Degrading?

I’m sure they will call you by your full title, “Lord High Uber Commander of the Universe”, if that is what you really prefer.

When I needed to use the local Bulgarian car wash I took beer with me for the lads and was invited to wait in their hut. After three or four times we were on first name terms and they practised their English. I was useless at Bulgarian but it gave them a laugh if I tried.

Are you a big fan of Nigel (PBUH) Faarange?

+ 1 for wash your own car, 1st world problem and you try washing cars for 10+ hours and maintaining a smile and sense of humour.

I usually let them off, providing they don't make eye contact.

I don’t like it either. Nothing to do with the car washers though.

They’re just adhering to EU regulation 127.1.3a relating to “Forms of English address to higher status individuals for the purpose of mild ingratiation in the conduct of cross-border commerce”.

Without going into the details, there’s a hierarchy from “mate” through to “your majesty” and “boss” is in the middle. I looked it up, and ccording to the legislation if you drive a better car than a Jag XF then you’re entitled to be called “Sir” by a Hand Car Wash operative.

I’m curious as to what activities the “in and out” in the threadtitle refer to?

Blimey! 5 posts since 2014?

They must have really got to you with their flippant insolence to make you vent on here.

"Boss" indeed! yikes The Horror!

Take a sedative. And deep breaths.

There...

It might be washing the outside and cleaning the inside. Or it might be they penetrate once and withdraw. Who knows.
