I love dress shirts. And I think a dress shirt looks best with proper trousers (not jeans or chinos) and a suit jacket sans tie. With tie if going for a formal look (work, weddings etc)

The thing is would this be a good look for everyday or would be a bit too much? Would trousers and shirt be just as good?

Thanks smile

If you like it, then do it.

What anyone else might think is of no concern.

Aren't you the guy that wears wooly trousers?

What are you trying to turn PH into, a clothes advisory council?

Would the "proper" trousers match the suit jacket? Because if not, that would probably look st.

If wearing a shirt then a jacket is a must.
Beginning of the week full suit jacket and trousers
By the end of the week or weekend mix and match.
But good quality shirts - the white one in the photos is naff.
I have about 30 shirts with a full range of colours and patterns (some button some cuff links)
Not worn a tie in about 5 years. Shame but that is fashion.

It's a little weird to be posting multiple thread about clothes choices.

Wear what you like.

It depends on the circumstances and surroundings as to if what you're describing looks good.

I love shirts too. smile

If wearing without a tie, perhaps consider BD collars for your shirt. A touch more casual and suit the tieless look better imo.

When you say 'proper trousers' did you mean the flannel wool trousers as per your previous post or are you basically just suggesting wearing a suit without a tie? (I wouldn't be mixing and matching trousers + suit jackets from different suits though).

I don't think you should discount chinos. TBH, chinos + dress shirt + sports coat is a much better look than the tieless suit option (imo)

Whether that would be a 'good' look for every day would probably depend on when/where you're planning to wear this outfit. Might be great for work or your daily life, might not.

The suit in the Moss link is imo too short on the jacket length and way too short for the trousers. The shorter jacket length is the more contemporary look that seems to be favoured nowadays but the trousers are full on Pitti Uomo peakcock style!

As for the other link, white shirt + blue trousers is very inoffensive. A nice sports coat would complete the ensemble.
