Trying to make the thread title as innocuous as possible but it will probably get binned anyway...

Went to a stag do this weekend, was a party of 10.

One of the subjects that cropped up in conversation was (using delicate phrasing), if you'd ever paid for some personal time from a woman who offers that service.

Was quite surprised that 5 of the people present held their hands up; 3 of them said it was a one-off when drunk abroad, 1 actively sought out someone who he had seen on screen and was advertising and the other admits to hating his relationship and does whatever he wants.

Was quite surprised it was as high as 50%.

Is this figure about right or was I just spending a weekend with a load of wrong'uns?

I'm surprised that as many as five out of the ten were honest.

I'm unclear. Is this thread about marriage?

Sounds like it was more a case of 'have you banged a hooker'.

I mean, let's be honest, we all end up paying for it one way or another biggrin

I'm single and not ashamed to admit that I have visited a very nice gentlemans club in the Czech Republic and also had the 'full experience' at a soapy massage establishment in Thailand.

Both HIGHLY recommended!!

Just far more expensive overall if you're married.

I cant think of many of my mates who haven't at some point.
I'd be surprised if it wasn't 80%, it would probably only be below that if some of the were lying.

Caught a bit of a program the other week about sugar daddy dating. The girls on it claimed not to be prostitutes but were being paid for "companionship". Essentially some rich bloke giving them several grand a month so that they can pick up the phone at any time and arrange to spend time together.

If I were that rich sounds like an ace solution to me, all the benefits and none of the grief biggrin

I don't see the appeal of that arrangement at all!

Really? Maybe it's a generational or demographic thing... I don't know anyone from my friends that has paid for "companionship" in any form.

Doesn't sound like a bad arrangement to be honest!

A chap I know regularly used to pay for it, not because he needed to either, he enjoyed it.

He paid for his brother too one evening but his brother admitted to me that he couldn't do it, just wasn't happening apparently.

I only know of one person who has done it and still does and if you knew him you'd know why; lovely guy but a bit simple, in his 50's, lives with his mum and I'm pretty sure he has never had a relationship.

I have done it once in Amsterdam in lads weekend.

I have a couple of mates who do regularly but I put it down to them being the sort of guys who are used to getting what they want. So it’s just another thing they to spend loads of money on to have everything there way.

Neither are British though with very different attitudes to women and relationships.

The first time I went to Amsterdam I was with a mate who was keen so we took a wander. In one end window there was an absolutely stunning woman, she wouldn’t look out of place among models.
We went back the next day when he’d plucked up the courage and I was tempted. I went back to her spot and there was a queue about 10 deep. vomit
I didn’t bother. laugh

I also saw the Sugar Dating program.

I was amazed at how many women (and men) the website owner claimed have signed up to his date finding service. 1.2 million or something?

I'm sure they cherrypicked the people they showed on the program and their lavish lifestyles weren't typical of people looking for Sugar Daddies (or Sugar Mommies?).

I can understand why people pay for "companionship services" but I think there must be many victims that aren't in control of who or when or many customers they attend to.
