I borrowed a tenner off a mate in the bookies at 14.25 put it on horse in the 14.30, it won, paid him back at about 14.40 so I owed it for 15 minutes, so that's about the shortest time I've ever owed something

Flymo - 30 seconds.

I needed to mow the lawn before going on holiday so got the mower out. First there was a nasty smell, then a bang. No time to repair it (& it was ancient) so I shot down to B&Q for a new one. Put it all together & mowed over the cable on the first pass.

laugh

I've done that a couple of times in the past and it has drove me mad!! I have a petrol mower now having decided that I'm just too clumsy for one with a cable.

Toilet seat lid of all things.

I had just fitted a new toilet in my newly purchased flat and stood back to admire my work. I put the seat and the lid down so I could sit on it to make it easier to see the fixings underneath the sink, which was the next job to do. As soon as I sat down the lid cracked completely in half. Didn't even get a chance to use the loo before it broke!

Bathroom being rebuilt - fitting guy put down the new ceramic shower tray and promptly dropped some tiles on it: immediately broken. 5 minutes?

I’ve just sold a car I purchase new. It only had 600 miles on the clock.
I didn’t like the colour.

Your foppish lethargy is an example why the UK needs immigrants to do work that Brits think is beneath them.

We are surprised you found the energy to type your post.
