I'm currently having a clear out on eBay of some old computer stuff and other electrical odds and ends. Some of this stuff is pushing 40 years old.

Would I be liable if my old C64 electrocuted someone or burned their house down ?

I'd guess it depends on your advert and indeed your job.

If an electrician, and the buyer knows you are, then you might be expected to have tested it. If a dustman then all you might have done is plugged it in.

So just be honest whether its been plugged in or not recently.
