I also love expensive running socks for everyday use. They cost about £12 a pair but are really comfy and last 10 times as long as regular socks.
I'm also a big fan of proper maps on paper. OS maps mainly but I love all sorts of maps. I like the way you can open the whole thing out and see relative distances and plan routes.
1. Herding Nerds, obviously.
2. The wonderful fresh English countryside smell of slurry being spread on the fields as you drive past in your topless car.
3. The Joy of Grandparenthood.
Agree with maps, as mentioned above
Not so sure about the smell of expensive running socks when worn for ten times longer than normal ones.

Jess Phillips - the best Prime Minister this country will never have.
Internet radio - who doesn't want to listen to the Auckland Breakfast show when you go to bed
The Bundesliga- for a few quid more than Premier League ticket, you can fly to Dusseldorf, watch a match in Dortmund on terracing with decent lager and proper fans, great football, great atmosphere, sausage in a roll for from a stall for dinner, have a night in a Premier Inn type hotel, and fly back the next evening.
